One of the best ways to see Southampton is by hopping on the Hythe Ferry and making the crossing to the village of Hythe which is situated on the other side of the estuary. The trip only takes ten minutes and you’ll have the opportunity to take in some of the large boats and ships in the harbour.
Once there, you’ll be able to explore Hythe pier which runs from the heart of the village and stretches 640 metres into the estuary, making it one of the longest piers in the UK. There’s a tramway running along the pier, giving you the chance to save some energy!
