Last night Stella McCartney was awarded at the National Resources Defence Council of America benefit for her continual refusal to use animal products in her clothing range. The designer was supported at the event by her father and his girlfriend Nancy Shevell. Stella McCartney is clearly a big fan of Christmas as she switched on the lights at her Bruton Street store last night with a little help from celebrity friends (and family). Peter Kay performed alongside her father who clearly has a lot of love for the comedian whilst Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, Laura Bailey and Lulu watched on. Kate and Stella showed their friendship dedication by wearing the same style boots but whilst Kate opted for suede, Stella went for (presumably) faux leather.

Most of you said you would dare to wear over-the-knee boots, so I'm here to put you up to the challenge. Take a look at these chic Steve Madden Over-the-Knee Leather Boots, Size 8.5. They have a short wedge to give you some height and would look smashing over tights, leggings, and any color skinny jeans.

UGG boots are bulky enough with all that thick shearling, but when you add ribbons and more height, it's just too much. I can't see myself, or anyone else for that matter, pulling off Love From Australia's Vixen Suede Over-the-Knee Boot ($400). In Antarctica they might come in handy, but I'd choose cold over tacky any day.
