Jamie Oliver is on a crusade to make the UK a better nation. He firstly changed school dinners, then challenged the meat industry and now he's branching out in to knitting, well, sort of! There is logic to this idea as Jamie aims to make use of the whole sheep!

I'm literally not sure how Lily Cole finds the time in the day to squeeze everything in. Not content with being a top model, Lily began studying at Cambridge University last year and has recently been busy promoting her acting efforts in Rage and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. This week it has been revealed that she's to add yet another string to her bow as she launches a clothing line with fellow model Katherine Poulton and friend Alice Ashby. The North Circular has been produced with Isobel Davies and has eco credentials as each piece was made from the wool of a rescued sheep.

As much as I hate to say it, it's time to start admitting that the Summer is drawing to a close. The evenings are getting darker and there is a cool breeze in the air reminding us of the changing seasons. It's not all bad news though, as Autumn clothes are always more exciting than Summer with more trend forward pieces and luxurious fabrics.

This season is all about the worn in look, from ripped jeans to laddered knits. Therefore, instead of throwing out that jumper covered in holes, simply throw it on with leggings or jeans for a grunge look.
Alternatively, if all of your knitwear is in a good state you can buy a pre-laddered top to help you achieve the style.

I often think that transitional months are the hardest to dress for. You know, when it's too cold to leave the house without a jacket, but too hot to actually put it on? Well, the answer this year might lie with a knitted waistcoat as I've seen an increasing number popping up on the High Street.

There is so much leopard print around right now, from scarves to coats to dresses, and now on to knitwear it seems you can't escape the animal print.
Leopard cardigans are the perfect cover-up for Spring when it's not quite warm enough to have bare arms. They're all over the High Street and available in a range of colours and shapes.

A new knitting magazine, The Knitter, has just been launched which interprets trends from the catwalk into patterns. I think that knitting is a great skill, particularly good to kill time when traveling on a train or plane but unfortunately I can't do it. Kate Hudson recently commented about how much she loves it too!

When you think of knitwear you probably think of crew or v-neck plain jumpers or else a horrible Christmas gift a la Bridget Jones. Well, Lisa Tsang (known as Lisa T) is on a one woman mission to change all of that. "That's exactly the problem," she tells me, "I want to change people's perception of knitwear."

Wow it really is winter isn't it? I can't seem to leave the house without at least five tops and two pairs of socks, not to mention countless layers on my legs! My current uniform (minus the layers for warmth) is a big jumper dress, leggings and over the knee boots.

The past few weeks have definitely been cold enough for it to be officially declared winter in the UK. Personally, I prefer the warmer summer months, but the silver lining of winter is that you can pile on the layers!
When it comes to knitwear, you really can't beat cashmere, and the idea of wrapping up in this short sleeve cardigan (£95) is appealing.
