Stars of Hollyoaks got dressed up again this weekend as they attended a charity ball at Chester race-course. Emma Rigby and Carley Stenson went for maxi gowns, whilst onscreen sisters Gemma Merna and Jennifer Metcalfe revealed a bit of leg. All of the girls wore fancy heels to the event, but who do you think was the best dressed?

The British Soap Awards took place in London on Saturday night and stars of the main shows got dolled up and hit the red carpet. The Hollyoaks girls always seem to steal the limelight and this weekend was no exception! - EastEnders was named Best Soap and picked up seven awards at the British Soap Awards, including Best Actor for Rob Kazinsky (Sean Slater) and Sexiest Male for Scott Maslen (Jack Branning). Coronation Street won six awards, while Hollyoaks left empty handed. — PA

- Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross have received nominations for next month’s British Comedy Awards. Russell is up for Best Live Stand-Up Performer, and Jonathan is up for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme for Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. — Times
- Whoopi Goldberg has announced she will produce a musical comedy stage show of Sister Act that will open in London's West End in June.

The National Television Awards may have had some stunning dresses and make-up looks, and I may have gotten to talk to some great celebrities, but really the whole event was about the gongs that were handed out during the ceremony. Four US faces came over to help give them out — Zachary Quinto, Nicollette Sheridan, Michael Urie and Paris Hilton — but the winners were all Brits, as voted for by the public.
In the press room following each acceptance speech we were visited by the winners.

Throughout December I've been asking you all to vote for your favourites of 2008, and this week I'm announcing all the winners.
Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street battled it out for this title using their dramatic storylines, but in the end Hollyoaks got the most votes and will be crowned as your favourite British soap of 2008. A mention also must go to Eastenders, which I'm choosing as my soap of the year.
Since I'm addicted to television about as much as I'm addicted to beauty and blogging, I thought this would be a great opportunity to talk about some of the brightest beauty looks from the silver screen this year. Between the trendy nail polish shades that we see every week on The Hills, Serena and Blair's amazing hair on Gossip Girl, Joan Holloway and Betty Draper's perfect red lipstick from Mad Men and the sex appeal of Billie Piper, it really depends on my mood which styles I favour the most. In your opinion, which 2008 television series do you think has the best beauty looks?
We can always count on our homegrown soaps to keep us regularly entertained with true to life and ridiculously outlandish storylines that lead to plenty of laughs and tears. Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale all pull in large, loyal audiences, but for our Best of 2008 series, I'd love to know which one you like the most, so tell me — which is your favourite British soap?
