I rocked my votes and now the 2010 CFDA Fashion Award nominees are in. We have to wait until June 7 to learn the results, but without further ado, here they are: Donna Karan, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs for Womenswear Designer of the Year. In the Menswear Designer of the Year category are Tom Ford, Michael Bastian, and David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone.

Lee Alexander McQueen's death earlier this year is still sending ripples of sadness through the fashion world. Yesterday would have been his 41st birthday (check out a fab round up of his Spring pieces here) and the Council Of Fashion Designers Of America used the occasion to announce another tribute.
The British designer's final collection was shown at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month and his will now be awarded with a CFDA's special board of directors honour.

Rumors have been circulating for a while now: Lanvin's Alber Elbaz to replace Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel. Well, once and for all, Chanel is shooting down the talk. "Karl Lagerfeld is the creative designer of Chanel and has a long-term contract with the company.

Madonna recently added designer to her resume, so it's no surprise that she's now building on that new title. First she announced a juniors line with Macy's and now she's teaming up with Dolce & Gabbana for a collection of luxury sunglasses. Six sunglasses, ranging from $248 to $289, will have the new MDG logo on it.

London just got another boost as a fashion capital as John Galliano has been enlisted as the new Fashion Fringe chairman. The eccentric designer has an impressive 26 year long career and is taking on his next challenge as a mentor, replacing previous chairman Donatella Versace.
What's more, his arrival is shaking up proceedings as he will be the sole judge of talent at the London Fashion Week competition.

It was a media doozy last year when fashion darling Esteban Cortezar left Ungaro, and the house hired Lindsay Lohan as its "artistic advisor." Now, one questionable Spring collection later, the celebrity designer has confirmed she is no longer with the fashion house. When asked why she wasn't present at Ungaro's Fall '10 runway show this week, Lohan responded, “Because I don’t work for them anymore.

Rumours were circulating this morning that Lindsay Lohan might not be present at the Ungaro Autumn show today leaving chief designer Estrella Archs to bow alone. Well, she didn't turn up and reportedly was not even invited.
Speaking to WWD, Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah simply commented, "She's not involved in this collection."

The recent JC Penney NYC bash was one helluva party, but it was also a chance at a sneak peek of Olsenboye's fresh Spring crop.
