When I head to work I'm all about comfort, so the fashion police would probably give me a ticket for my lack of trendiness. But when the weekend rolls around, I definitely like to dress up if I'm going out, especially because my girls love it when I put on heels and lipstick.

Skinny jeans and leggings are some of the biggest trends I see when I'm out, and being the health-minded person that I am, I'm wondering how you ladies feel about this fad (which doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon). Are these skin-tight pants encouraging women to feel bad about their figures, or do you think they're a great tool to motivate women to meet their fitness goals?

We've heard that skinny jeans can cause tingling thigh syndrome, but in news that will surprise absolutely no one who wears skinny jeans (I even sit half-lotus while meditating in mine!), Consumer Reports physicians say that wearing skinny jeans could also give you bladder infections, yeast infections, blood clots and even fertility problems!

“Once you have those symptoms," NYU assistant professor of neurology Dr. Keith Stiller says with a straight face, "it’s probably not a good idea to for you to keep wearing those clothes.” (Ya think?) What about you - will anything come between you and your ~~Calvins~~ skinnies?

Skinny Jeans Causing Tingling Thighs

For healthy, normal-sized woman, skinny jeans are not a welcomed fashion statement. Aside from paining a woman's self-esteem and making many feel the need to lose weight, new research shows that skinny jeans also cause physical pain. Constant pressure from the tight denim jeans cuts off the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve create the nerve condition meralgia paresthetica, known in layman's term a bit more descriptively as "tingling thigh syndrome." The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve runs from the outside of the pelvis and through the thigh. When compressed, it causes a numb, tingling, or burning sensation along the upper leg.

Tingling thigh syndrome is more common in construction workers who wear heavy work belts, pregnant women, or those who are obese. Over the past few years though, more and more healthy women are complaining of symptoms due to their tight skinny jeans. High heels, often worn with these jeans, compound the issue since they tilt the pelvis forward, increasing pressure on the nerve. Fortunately, there's little risk for causing permanent damage, but the sensations may inspire women to switch to looser-fitting pants. R&B songstress Ciara showed up at BBC Radio One in London looking ferocious in skinny gray jeans, barely pink pocket tank, and slick, white blazer. Notice how the crinkly texture is unfussy while exotic Louis Vuitton sandals and sleek sunnies reveal her inner diva. What a cool juxtaposition - I like to call it fashion yin yang.

Style for Style: Silver Jeans

When I first found out about Gio Goi's crystal wash jeans (£65) I just had to see them for myself. Designers are continually trying to end the skinny jeans phenomenon but most people (myself included) can't seem to give them up. The jeans looked very unflattering in the picture so I wondered how I might wear them.

When I first put the jeans on I was impressed by the fit. I am not Kate-Moss-skinny but I don't think you have to be to wear skinny trousers. The waist wasn't exactly loose but, as you can see from the picture, the leg was baggy enough to look flattering. To what to wear with these jeans just read more.

The jeans are shaped slightly higher at the back too so you avoid the infamous builders-bum problem! The jeans are available in several lengths but being 5'8" I thought the long would be best suited. With flat shoes (far right) they were too long but I always try and get jeans for heels as it's more flattering. You can always turn them up to make the length flexible.

It's not clear in my photos but the jeans have a faint glitter finish and thick stitching around the pockets. On the label it warns that the colour might fade over time but I think they'd actually look better when they'd faded slightly. The glitter aspect immediately made me want to wear them for dancing so I added in a bright pair of heels and a sheer top that picked up the silver in the shoulder detailing (far left). For day wear, I added a long black top or stripey jumper with either flats or ankle boots.

Finally, I cannot resist wearing a dress over jeans so I went for a purple floral style to brighten up the look. If you worked in a casual office this would make a great daytime ensemble. What do you think of the jeans?

There are gray jeans and then there are light gray jeans. Though I like the former, I am obsessed with the latter. The soft hue looks especially smashing with cognac pieces. I melt just thinking about it. My hunt for the perfect pair got me to these Kova & T Sandy 98 Skinny Jeans ($198). Compared to other brands, the price tag isn't brutal. Still, why spend more when I can spend less?

I further continued my search for the perfect light gray jeans by looking in less-expensive stores. That's when I found these Express Mia Ultra Skinny Gray Jeans ($70). They're light, they're fairly affordable, and they're skinny the way I like them.

Look of the Day: Shades of Greige

holleighz is decked out in all shades of greige today. Quick lesson: Greige is a mix between gray and beige. I like the earth toned palette combined with funky styling. Celebrity Style: Selita Ebanks

Selita Ebanks doesn't mind posing for the camera. Sporting her cropped do, the model looked fresh and fantastic in NYC during a visit to The Tyra Banks Show to celebrate the first all-black model issue of Vogue Italia. It looks like walking down the runway has perfected her art of styling. I like how she wrapped a brown belt around her cuffed Smythe boyfriend blazer and spiced things up with those colorful cut-out heels. One word describes this look: Fab!
