I've never seen such a thing in San Francisco: When we left the book signing of The Sartorialist by Scott Schuman at the Paul Smith store last night, the line to get in was down the block and around the corner. It's safe to say the street-style photog is a star. Book in hand, we approached the dapper Scott, who's completely handsome and respectable in person.

Sir Paul Smith is the latest designer to speak out about the way the fashion industry works. In an interview with The Telegraph the British designer has slated fashion shows calling them “time consuming and costly”.
Smith has been a key fixture of London fashion week for many years and always attracts an impressive front row.

Nicole Richie's jewellery line has widely been a success with fans on both sides of the Atlantic. Like the Olsens before her, Nicole proved that celebrity fashion collections don't have to be trashy or demode. House of Harlow is adorably named after her daughter (will a Sparrow diffusion line follow?) and offers vintage style pieces for an affordable price.

Lindsay Lohan made her Paris Fashion Week debut earlier this month following her appointment in the role of artistic advisor for Emanuel Ungaro. The actress has previous design experience with her leggings collection, and Ungaro were desperate to give the label a younger edge. Lindsay worked alongside Estrella Archs for the Spring line which was widely slated by the fashion press.

Last week, German fashion magazine Brigitte announced plans to ban professional models from its pages. The move was taken in an attempt to address the size zero debate and has received a mixed response. This weekend Karl Lagerfeld added his two cents to the debate.

During our interview with Rachel Roy, we talked to the designer about growing up in the Bay Area (Monterey), and the differences between East and West Coast life. Interestingly, Rachel described the East Coast as more segregated compared to the West:
"I grew up in the Bay Area and went to college on the East Coast. Things were quite segregated, and I wasn't into that.

Naomi and Kate are friends, so I wonder how they'll feel about this tidbit everyone is talking about today. Photographer Nick Knight just spoke with The Times UK about his preference between the two Supers: "Over the years I've felt I want to work with Naomi rather than Kate. I like the fact that Naomi sits less comfortably in society than Kate does," he said.
