The Elle Style Awards afterparty carried on into the night yesterday, with A listers rubbing shoulders with B and C listers all over the room. KT Tunstall turned barmaid for a while, pouring wine for her friends, whilst Keira and Rupert laughed pretty raucously with James McAvoy.

The gorgeous and the glamorous were out in London tonight for Elle magazine's annual Style Awards. To sum up – a smiley Kylie was named Woman of The Year, Keira was their Best Actress, and Kate Hudson was named an Elle Style Icon. Kate and the Brits Get Stylish for The Elle Style Awards

Elle UK added to award season madness last night as they handed out their annual Style Awards. Keira Knightley received some consolation after her loss at the BAFTAs with her win in the Best Actress category, while her Atonement co-star James McAvoy got his second Best Actor award in less than a week. Kylie Minogue was crowned Woman of the Year and Kate Hudson brought Stella McCartney as her date to be officially named an Elle Style Icon. Fab Blab: Don't Call Alexa Geek Chic

Alexa Chung has quickly become a style icon as her wardrobe combines vintage, High Street and designer items effortlessly. However, not everyone has fallen for her charm. Earlier this week at the Elle Style Awards, Alexa commented on Cheryl Cole's Vogue issue where she accused Alexa of acting "all superior".

She said, "I didn't really mind because to be fair I was probably a bit of an idiot when I met her, so it's cool. She's a national treasure so she can say what she likes."

Alexa hosted the Elle Style Awards and took home a gong for 'Best TV Star' but says she's fed up with being called 'geek chic'. "Yeah, I was a bit p****ed off about that actually. I don't intend to be geeky. I think it's because I wear glasses sometimes 'cos I've run out of contact lenses, we've all been there."

You voted Alexa your favourite new style icon in 2008, but she is quite down to earth about her trend role. "I think it's really flattering but it's not something I think about daily. I'm not like, 'Ah, I'm going to spark a trend.' I'm usually filming quite early on in the morning so it's more a case of things I can grab."

Fab Flash: Nominees for Scottish Fashion Awards are Announced

The Scottish Fashion Awards are now in their third year and the nominees for this year have just been announced. The event will take place at Stirling Castle on 29th June with Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders and Deryck Walker battling it out for Scottish Fashion Awards Designer of the year.

There is also a new award this year, Scottish Fashion Awards Best use of Tartan by an international designer with Fab favourite Henry Holland in the running. Holland used plenty of tartan in his Autumn/Winter collection including tartan antlers.

Agyness Deyn . . . Or Max Headroom?

At the 2008 Elle Style Awards, most ladies, like Kate Hudson and Keira Knightley, wore elegant gowns. But model Agyness Deyn went punky, per usual, in a boxy Henry Holland fit - no surprises there.

However, the image that flashed in front of me is that of '80s TV character Max Headroom. Remember him?! And what a coincidence that they're both British. The neon colors, the retro sunnies, the short blond hair . . . the model may as well change her name, again!
