2008 American Music Awards - Red Carpet
I was flipping through channels yesterday, (note, I’ve been doing a lot of channel surfing since "Snowmagedon' has most of the mid-Atlantic region buried), when I came across a movie called "Queen Sized". I don't know what it is about that expression that somehow makes me so annoyed? When my husband refers to me as his queen, it inevitably brings a smile to my face and a coquettish gleam to my eyes- however, when I see movies featuring curvy girls, labeling them- Queen sized, it makes me mad.

Nothing says Grammys like a good party – unless it's a week full of them. The biggest names in music and Hollywood are expected to turn out at a string of galas starting Wednesday and going until the wee hours after the awards show Sunday, and PEOPLE has all the details:
Grammy Night
Following the awards telecast from L.A.'s Staples Center on CBS, winners, losers and thousands of others head to the official Grammy Celebration next door, where Wolfgang Puck serves up the food. Error of Commission
The Wall Street Journal reports:
White House and congressional leaders reached a tentative deal aimed at establishing a bipartisan commission to tackle the soaring federal budget deficit, in what is likely to be a central element of President Barack Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget, people familiar with the talks said.
Meeting Tuesday night at the White House, Vice President Joe Biden, White House budget director Peter Orszag and Democratic leaders agreed the commission would report back at the end of 2010 with a path to bring this year’s projected $1.4 trillion deficit from about 10% of gross domestic product to 3% by 2015.
The commission would also submit recommendations on taxes and spending on entitlements, such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

10. Lip "Plumpers" Somehow, humanitarian/sexpot/kung fu princess/supermom Angelina Jolie's mojo seems to reside in her impossibly perky pecker. I don't know what it is, but men and women alike are practically hypnotized by the sensuality, power and strength of the woman.

1. Hamburgers
Considered a "high risk" food because of the poor health standards under which they are manufactured. The time consuming process for making processed meats creates high bacteria counts and putrefaction of the meat which need to be treated with chemicals.

I decided to make my own holiday hostess gifts this year instead of spending on wine or pre-made goodies. I found mini jam jars at Target and stocked up on pistachios, almonds, white chocolate chips and dried cranberries from Trader Joes, which combine to make a tangy, sweet and salty treat that can be enjoyed at the party, or weeks later. To add an extra seasonal flare I dressed the jars with a red ribbon and a simple stock card label, which I decorated with a rubber stamp.
