Good evening.
This is a special night for me. Exactly 3 years ago, on July 15, 1976, I accepted the nomination of my party to run for President of the United States.

Be my Valentine
I think of you often...I do,
From morning 'til evening I do,
When memories bring laughter
Or moments bring pain,
There is faithfulness, too, once again.
And time always shows me
And God always shows me
Both sunshine and rain,
How, we gain yearly
From the love we're share dearly.
So, my dear, my sweet bubbaloo,
Remember our love, dulce bubbaloo,
For we've come so far and there's so much to come
And I have love to yet give
For the life we will live.....together.

COFFEEIt's the unseasonably cold November of 2008 when I go to New York's Bowery Hotel. There's a young man sitting in the garden, wrapped in about nine black sweaters and wearing a wool hat, smoking cigarettes, sipping a latte the size of his head, and furiously making notes on a script in the bitter cold. I have read about teenage girls lighting themselves on fire in front of his hotel, but at the moment Robert Pattinson is warming his hands on a coffee cup.

Lauren Conrad took it to the tropics during her latest round of promotions for her book, Sweet Little Lies. Her Nanette Lepore exotic palm-print shift dress is a refreshing change from Winter's sea of black. Not one for major bling, Lauren's only accessories are black opaque tights and black suede Louboutin pumps.

I know this is a bit bland...but hey! I have an excuse. I have a miserable cold and I'm trying to force myself to feel better by wearing my new animal print platforms.

Long before he became a world-famous dreamer, Martin Luther King Jr. was a little boy who played jokes and practiced the piano and made friends without considering race. But growing up in the segregated South of the 1920s forced a very young Martin to learn a bitter lesson — little white children and little black children were not to play with one another. Martin decided then and there that something had to be done.
