British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, 40, was found dead at his London home on Thursday morning, his office confirms. "Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home," his family says in a statement to PEOPLE. "At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family."

$2.3 million in federal stimulus money is going to pay for Tampa Bay area beauty school tuition

More than $2.3 million in federal economic stimulus grants have gone to eight Tampa Bay area cosmetology and massage schools to pay tuition for the hairdressers, masseuses and nail technicians of tomorrow.
That's swell news for those who see the beauty trades as a way to gain a firmer footing in the job market. But is there truly demand for more beauty school graduates at bay area salons?

Amsterdam, 30th of July 2009 - The eleventh edition of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW) was an overwhelming success. July 18th till 26th Amsterdam was breathing fashion. The official catwalk program took place at the Westergasarea and showed Holland’s finest of academies, graduates, young talents and established brands.
