Fab Cover: Victoria Beckham for Harper's Bazaar
Victoria Beckham is the latest coverstar of Harper's Bazaar. The singer turned designer has shot two different covers for the December issue where she poses in black ensembles. There is also an extensive interview with Victoria where she talks about her solo pop career being "a mistake" and explains, ''I'm a complete control freak.
Could Natalia Vodianova Be the New Face of YSL?
Yves Saint Laurent has an impressive portfolio of ad campaigns. They star some of the world's best known models including Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell. Next season they have recruited another well known face as rumour has it that Natalia Vodianova is to take the reigns.
Bag to Have: YSL Sixieme
Kate Moss has been busy at Paris Fashion Week attending shows (including Miu Miu in this tight fitting leather number) and dining with beau Jamie Hince. Whilst out on one of their many dates in co-ordinating pastel ensembles, Kate was also carrying a gorgeous YSL Sixieme stingray bag (£1,145) from the Autumn collection. The small handbag is made of leather with silver hardware including a chain handle.
Found: Diane Kruger's Venice Festival Heels
Diane Kruger appeared at Venice Film Festival last week as she promoted her latest movie Mr. Nobody. She wore one of my favourite ensembles of the festival teaming a gorgeous Christopher Kane frock with some killer heels. The black suede ankle boots are part of Yves Saint Laurent's Autumn collection and are aptly named Divine ($895, about £540).
Catwalk Trend Alert: Leather
Tough leather returned to the catwalks this Autumn as some of the biggest design houses (think Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Prada to name a few) championed the fabric. It fitted in nicely with the '80s revival as big shoulders become de rigeur especially at Balmain and Alexander Wang. I have spotted a new trend emerging on the London party scene as girls reach for the sequins to jazz up a simple ensemble. Last week both Little Boots and Liz McLaron supported the style which was spotted on the catwalks at D&G and Stella McCartney. Are You Excited for a YSL Movie?
Last Summer we sadly lost one of the greatest names in modern fashion history as Yves Saint Laurent died of brain cancer at his home in Paris. His is widely credited with reinventing womenswear and is arguably one of the members of fashion's holy trinity (along with Coco Chanel and Christian Dior). His life and work are so intriguing that French signer Alain Chamfort and songwriter Pierre-Dominique Burgaud are working on a musical about his life.
