Trend Alert: Embellished Shoulders
You already know that shoulders are a big deal right now. They have been padded , beaded and generally exaggerated everywhere from the catwalk to the High Street to give your outfit an '80s retro feel. Now that we're nearly in to party season, I have noticed a growing number of embellished shoulder tops on the High Street.
Trend Alert: Knitted Beanies
Sienna Miller was spotted walking her dog in New York City last week showing off her casual wrapped up style. The actress who is currently appearing on Broadway wore a padded jacket with a white knitted beanie.
Winter hats are great for covering up on a bad hair day or for keeping you warm on really cold days.
Trend Alert: Zip Front Dress
The gorgeous Joanna Page (of Gavin and Stacey fame) was on Jonathan Ross on Friday night looking adorable in a zip front dress. This got me thinking about how many similar style frocks I have seen recently as they're all over the High Street.
There are some dressed up styles, like Opening Ceremony's lace and zip frock (£445) and also more dressed down styles like Urban Outfitter's floral number (£75).

There are so many different coloured tights on offer this Autumn. From block colours, to patterns, to wetlook styles you're sure to find something to jazz up your pins!
Leopard print is an ongoing trend which we have already seen on cardigans, scarves and bikinis, and now there are tights too!

There was a lot of leather on the catwalks for Autumn 2009, and now the trend has landed on the High Street. From leather trousers, to leggings to jackets, you can't escape the fabric and it's sure to give your outfit a rock chick feel.
I have noticed a number of leather blazers on offer, which would look great with skinny jeans and boots.

Lace has been a key trend for a couple of seasons, but this Autumn its all over the High Street in many different shapes and styles. I have noticed a particular '80s item as the retro body makes a come back.
Lily Allen rocked a very sheer style over the Summer on stage at V Festival with a pair of skinny jeans.
Trend Alert: Drop Waist Dress
Sometimes trends aren't about dramatic changes in what we wear, but rather slight shifts in style that give your ensemble a new look. For Autumn 2009, I have noticed a lot of drop waist dresses on offer which elongate your shape.
There are plenty of party dresses in this style which will take you through to Christmas.
Trend Alert: Pumpkin Palette
Halloween is just around the corner and if you're not keen on dressing up, maybe you could nod to the occasion with a pumpkin coloured ensemble! The colour might seem overbearing, but it's easy to pull off with accessories or shots of colour.
I love these cute pumpkin socks (£3) from Topshop which are a fun way to acknowledge the day!
Trend Alert: Padded Gilet
There is a cold chill in the air today reminding us that October is definitely here. The Autumn weather means it's time to dig out your knitwear, gloves, and scarves and to prepare your coats for the colder months.
If you don't feel prepared to commit yourself to a heavy coat just yet, then maybe a gilet has more appeal.
Trend Alert: Pasty White Faces for Spring
Now that Paris Fashion Week is finally over, it's time to round up another beauty trend from the hottest fashion shows that France has to offer. Red lips have been and will always be in style, as will sexy, bed head hair. But a little more fashion forward and racy is next season's modern take on the white Geisha face.
