The pretty florals and ruffles on the Vivienne Tam runway at New York Fashion Week had an innocent and playful air. The sculptured, striking makeup looks gave an edge to the feminine styles we'll all be wearing next season.

Since resigning as the creative director at Bill Blass this summer, designer Peter Som has been able to focus entirely on his own label's collection. At his show at New York Fashion Week, yesterday, he showcased his typically understated, yet elegant pieces and I was blown away by the pretty, but never twee, hair and makeup.
