Biggest Headline of 2008: Sex and the City Comes to London!

One of the biggest fashion events of the year happened in May when the highly anticipated Sex and the City Movie was released and premiered here in London! Our favourite New York gals headed in to town and hit the red carpet in their best frocks which did not disappoint. They were joined by a whole host of British celebrities including model Daisy Lowe as well as British designer (who created the wedding dress) Vivienne Westwood.

Fashionista's flocked to see the film which was almost more about the clothes than the characters as we swooned at that Alexander McQueen dress, the Proenza Schouler skirt and the amazing studded vintage belt. Carrie tried on countless wedding dresses with my personal favourite being a pearl applique Christian LaCroix style.

Many ladies got dressed up donning their best Manolo Blahniks to pay homage to Patricia Field's unique styling ways. Also, it was one of the few occasions when the cinema was predominantly women! Did you go see the movie? How was your cinema experience?

On Our Radar: Patricia Field for M&S

The Sex and the City Movie has just come out on DVD which is allowing us all to relive our fashion fantasies through our favourite New York ladies. Well, if the wardrobe has left you longing for Carrie's style then fear not as Patricia Field has the answer! Today her long awaited collaboration with High Street store Marks and Spencer is revealed and I am very impressed by the pieces.

Field has essentially recreated the looks from the movie at an affordable price (including that belt) and it's perfect timing for the party season. The collection seems to be aimed at a younger clientele than normal for M&S with a sequined catsuit (£99) and an uber-short strapless dress (£35). Although some of the other pieces are definitely more flexible.

You can check out the full collection here but if you're already a fan of Field/Carrie Bradshaw you will definitely end up spending a pound of two. I am currently torn between the teal dress (£75) and the sequined top (£75). As always, let me know what you think!

Look for Less: Carrie's Belt

If you've seen the Sex and the City Movie then you'll be aware that this studded belt appears in the movie almost more than Sarah Jessica Parker does. Ok, slight exaggeration but it stars heavily in the film and I'm sure plenty of you will be lusting after it.

Patricia Field styled the belt over a green floral dress (pictured) and a pink prom dress. Field told the Daily Mail, "I use a lot of belts in the movie - they're a great way to add interest to a look."

Of course ASOS have copies of all of the best Sex and the City outfits but particularly popular is this pyramid studded waist belt (£15).

Look for Less: Carrie Bradshaw

Did you see it yet? Are you seeing it tonight? Without sounding like an Eastenders ad everybody is talking about it and if not the storyline then the amazing wardrobe! Well, not all of us have the same (seemingly endless) budget as Carrie Bradshaw so I scoured the High Street for you so that you can get the look for less.

This specific look is worn by Carrie at the very beginning of the movie when she is walking around New York with Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha. It's probably the easiest movie look to pull off unless you like over the top style. It's a slight twist on classic smart style accessorised with a funky brooch.

Sex and the City Movie World Premiere: Kristin Davis

Last but by no means least of the Sex and the City stars is Kristin Davis who, like Kim Catrall, opted for a red dress for the premiere. It's very Charlotte in style with a conservative length and high neck but Kristin still looks adorable. What do you think?

Earlier we saw Dame Vivienne Westwood on the red carpet and now Kim Catrall is showing off one of her designs. Kim, like Cynthia, is brave to try something different opting for a tailored asymmetrical red dress that doesn't necessarily do her figure justice. Red is such a great colour for Kim and it suits her here. What do you think? Are you surprised she didn't go for something sexier?
