On Our Radar: Peaches to Design Second Range for PPQ

Peaches Geldof made her first foray in to fashion design this year with the launch of her capsule collection for PPQ. Most of you were impressed by her designs in the end so you'll be pleased to know that today it has been revealed that she will design a second collection for PPQ.

Her first collection was quite pricey with pieces around £100 but her next line will be slightly cheaper. Label owner Percy Parker explained, “We had a meeting to discuss expanding the range. We're going to make it a lot more accessible, in different shops around the country and on the Internet. It's going to be much more accessible, but not as cheap as Topshop.” Parker's comment might be a dig at Kate Moss for Topshop but it seems he is eager to defend Peaches.

He added, “Peaches gets a lot of bad press but that's just because if she doesn't think someone is cool, she won't make the effort or give them any time.” The new pieces will be available from March although details are yet to be finalised.

I agree that Peaches does get some bad press and I was pleasantly surprised by her designs so will be intrigued to see what she comes up with next. What do you think about her plans?

Peaches Geldof for PPQ Available Online

Most of you actually admitted to loving the Peaches Geldof for PPQ range which she designed in her own style. The pieces are already available at Selfridges but they have now been added to Oli.co.uk so you can view the collection online.

There are dresses, skirts and even a vanity bag containing Collection 2000 goodies (they sponsored the Spring 2009 show). There is also a pair of velvet hotpants (£65) which are my personal favourite from the collection.

The dresses are vintage inspired with plenty of lace and rockabilly touches. Do you think the price is high for a celebrity range, or do the luxurious fabrics justify the price tag?

Last week Peaches revealed the inspiration behind her capsule collection for PPQ. The line is based on her own personal style which she described as "between very folk, Sixties hippy" and "grunge". Today the long-awaited collection hits Selfridges and below are some images of her modeling her own designs. Peaches stayed true to PPQ with vintage style monochrome and a cute prom dress. The influence from her own style is also very obvious, but what do you think of the pieces?

Fab Flash: Details About Peaches PPQ Line Revealed

Plans for Peaches Geldof's collaboration with PPQ were revealed back in March when she wasn't married and Disappear Here was merely a twinkle in her journalistic eye. Now, over six months later details for the release of the collection are finally being revealed.

Speaking to Vogue Peaches explained, "Designing for PPQ has been fun and inspiring. I love that my collection came out exactly as I wanted, blending new romanticisim with gothic undertones."

The capsule collection includes little black lace dresses, tops and high waisted tapered trousers also a handbag complete with everything you need for a night out.

Since Sunday night's episode of Disappear Here I'm sceptical about anything she undertakes but the range will hit Selfridges later this month with prices ranging from £95 to £195. She said her own style, which she describes as, "between very folk, Sixties hippy" and "grunge" influenced her designs. I guess the proof is in the pudding!

Fab Flash: Peaches Geldof on Her PPQ Line

Peaches Geldof's name is everywhere today admist talk of her Vegas wedding to Max Drummey. However, as well as this she is currently putting the finishing touches to her PPQ capsule collection.

The Times caught up with Peaches to find out about her clothing line and her wild-child lifestyle. The collection is due to hit stores at the end of October with dresses priced around £200. Expect dramatic, gothic styling as Peaches has been researching Harajuku’s “gothic Lolitas” in Japan whilst working closely with PPQ designers Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker.

The collection fuses elements of 1980s new romanticism and even Jack the Ripper. We're quite intrigued! Peaches adds at the end that Topshop jeans are her favourite. “The best jeans I’ve ever owned – the ankle is so tight; just what I look for.”

Peaches Geldof has her fingers in many pies. She is determined to not simply be a socialite. She has made previous attempts at journalism but has now turned her hand to fashion design. Peaches, who recently celebrated her nineteenth birthday, will be working with PPQ. There are many obvious links between Peaches and PPQ as she is always in the front row and has even appeared on the catwalk. It was announced today that Peaches would be creating a capsule collection of dresses, separates and bags for the London based design house.

Percy Parker, who founded PPQ with Amy Molyneux spoke to WWD about the collaboration,

"It's a natural progression that Peaches is designing with us, she has always been one of our most confident customers...We have managed to provide her with everything a girl needs to party in, and now we have put our heads together and taken things to the next step."

The line will be available in time for Autumn from PPQ's store on Conduit Street and will retail up to £195.

Who Wore It Better? PPQ Dress

Peaches Geldof attended a couple of shows at London Fashion Week, including House of Holland where she wore this cute ensemble. Some of you might recognise the dress from Lily Allen's latest video. The dress is part of PPQ's Spring line and features a cute bow tie. Both girls wore it with black heels and tights, Peaches also layered it over a long sleeve top and tied some ribbon in her hair. Collection 2000 Goes Colour Crazy with PPQ

As London Fashion Week draws ever closer, beauty brand Collection 2000 has announced that they're sponsoring the much-anticipated 2009 Spring PPQ show on Sunday 14th September.

The PPQ duo are not only great friends and collaborators with Peaches Geldof but have also caught the eye of style obsessed girls about town Agyness Deyn, Daisy Lowe and Lily Allen. They all made guest appearances alongside Peaches at PPQ's 2008 Autumn/Winter show in February.

The collaboration with Collection 2000 comes as one of the UK's fastest-growing beauty brands gets a makeover. They're unveiling a brand new collection with a focus on trends, fashion-led colours and a fun, irreverent attitude. Collection 2000 has also recently appointed makeup artist Athena Skouvakis as their new creative consultant. Athena will be leading the team of makeup artists at the PPQ show and we're expecting great things.

Amy Moyneaux of PPQ says "Our Spring/Summer 09 show is heavily inspired by paint and layered colours so partnering with a colour confident brand like Collection 2000 for this season is really exciting." She adds "This season is all about developing new boundaries and shapes with colour." Lets hope Athena picks up on the luxe pop chic and inspirational use of colour that's become the hallmark of PPQ's success.

Love It or Hate It? Pixie Geldof's Jet Black Hair

Not to be outdone by Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss chopping off their hair, Pixie Geldof is earning herself some beauty chameleon credentials. She turned heads yesterday at the PPQ show by swapping her trademark bleach blonde for a dramatic jet black colour.

Pixie has been working the aptly named pixie cut for a while now, but she's gone for a sharper, more structured fringe that has echoes Agyness Deyn's hairdo. Black hair with pale skin is a tough combination to pull off, but Pixie's dark gothic look is definitely on-trend with this season's goth glam mood. What do you think of Pixie's hair?

Would You Ever Wear Double Denim?

Peaches Geldof was spotted out on the town in London last night still rocking purple hair and wearing double denim! The PPQ collaborator went for a retro vibe teaming an oversized jacket with cut off high waisted shorts. This got me thinking, would you ever wear double denim?
