Rodarte for Opening Ceremony launched across the pond earlier this month, and now British shoppers are going to get the chance to buy the pieces. The collection launches in Harvey Nichols today with prices ranging from £275 for a dyed shirt to £1,575 for a leather tee. There are some cool pieces for Spring including a pleated skirt (£510) which could easily be dressed up or dressed down. Are you a fan of Rodarte?
Beauty Byte: Dannii Minogue's Project D Fragrance Arrives
It's here ladies! I've been excited about Dannii Minogue's new Project D Fragrance range with partner Tabitha Somerset Webb ever since it was announced earlier this Summer, and now it is finally arriving! This weekend the line is set to launch at Harvey Nichols (£34) exclusively. (Check out the bottle design below!) The scent range, dubbed Project D by Dannii and Tabitha, comes in three expressions, Dawn, Day and Dusk and joins the duo's highly successful fashion label.

Project D's scents are said to be part glamorous, part rock 'n' roll. Dawn is a fresh mix of bergamot, geranium and yland ylang. Day is a bold scent, using daisy, tuberose and mimosa notes. Meanwhile, Dusk is a sensual fragrance with notes of sandalwood, musk and amber. Ooh la la!
Dannii commented:
“Fashion and fragrance have historically been entwined. The beauty is Project D allows you to blend these, creating your personal style, making each day your own. Finding your unique blend creates a signature scent that is timeless and alluring.”
Exciting! I can't wait to smell them! Are you a fan of Project D?

What to See On London's Fashion's Night Out
Wednesday 8th September is Fashion's Night Out in London (New York is close behind on 10th). The British capital is playing host to a whole load of events which aim to celebrate the amazing array of designers and retailers the city offers. This year, the evening is raising money for Kids Company. This will mainly be achieved through the sales of a printed t-shirt (£18) and a tote bag (£10). Plenty of celebs got involved last year so I'm sure you might spot somebody stylish if you are out and about on Wednesday. Will you be attending?

Marc Jacobs Launches 'Bang' at London's Harvey Nichols!
I love a good party, and this one did not disappoint! Marc jacobs was in London last night to celebrate the launch of his latest men's fragrance Bang, and yours truly got to go along.
"I Love London, I don't get here enough!" said Marc as he chatted with celebrity friends Jesus Luz (Madonna's hot model boyf), Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears, Beth Ditto, Daisy Lowe, Mischa Barton, Erin O'Connor, Pixie Lott, Diana Vickers and Henry Holland.
The event was held at London's Harvey Nichols and for the occasion the whole bar was decked out in sculpted foil, echoing the metallic effect on the bottle. (Check out the naked picture of Marc in his saucy campaign for it, shot by friend Juergen Teller.)
Jesus Luz DJ'd on the decks, finishing his set with Madonna's "Let's Get This Started" (cue crazy crowd dancing). He was followed by Jake who introduced some disco tunes to the mix.

On Our Radar: Harvey Nichols Develops Own Clothing Line
The retail environment is beginning to recover, but stores are constantly trying to offer us more to adapt to the changing financial climate. Harvey Nichols has today revealed plans to develop its own clothing line. CEO Joseph Wan announced that it was in the early stages of developing a line which has four categories, “We haven’t decided if we are to launch them simultaneously given the current economic climate…but we are focused on them. This initiative shows how the Harvey Nichols brand can be developed and exploited going forward.”

The clothing line has been rumoured for some time but the number of stores is limiting the move slightly. “We have 12 stores right now, but 15 is the magic number that would satisfy our minimum requirements. It’s a strategy we will continue to pursue.” Last year the brand's retail empire expanded to include Bristol, and it also has plans to open in Nottingham.
On Our Radar: T by Alexander Wang Hits UK Stores
Our US sister site has just voted Alexander Wang the designer of the year so imagine my excitement when I found out that his diffusion line is now available in the UK. T by Alexander Wang has landed at Harvey Nichols with new items being added daily. The range remains true to Wang's grungey style which is adored by celebrities such as Taylor Momsen, Alice Dellal and Daisy Lowe but at a reduced price.
Averyl Oates, Buying Director of Harvey Nichols explained, "Having recently scooped the prestigious CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund Award things only seem to be getting better and I think that Wang has the potential to elevate himself to the ranks of other such prestigious designers as Rick Owens, with whom I feel there are many parallels. With the introduction of his diffusion line, T by Alexander Wang, his clothes are now even more accessible to our customers."

FABTV: Making of Harvey Nichols Ads
Last week I showed you the latest Wallace and Gromit for Harvey Nichols ads which have been produced for the new Bristol store. The pair were chosen as the face because Aardman animation are famously from Bristol (also because they lend themselves nicely to plenty of 'right trousers' jokes). In this short clip you see the pair getting a make-over for the shoot and you can see the immense detail which goes in to making such an ad campaign.
Fab Ad: Wallace & Gromit for Harvey Nichols
If you've missed Wallace & Gromit appearing on our screens in recent years then you'll be pleased to know that they're fronting the latest Harvey Nichols campaign. Wallace, who usually dons a green tank top and brown trousers has had quite the makeover now sporting Paul Smith suits, and D&G shirts! Gromit too gets to experience a fashionable makeover with a Duchamp scarf and ray-bans.
The ad campaign is being used to promote the new Harvey Nichols store in Bristol which has just opened. Bristol is the place where Wallace & Gromit were created by Nick Park.
Lady Campanula Tottington, Wallace’s love interest from the last film, Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, also features in the ad campaign. Pictured here (left) she wears a black draped dress by Alexander McQueen, red patent shoes by Christian Louboutin and a Zagliani metallic bronze ‘Puffy’ bag.
You can see more of the adverts below. They will appear on posters and in magazine adverts in the run up to the new store opening at the end of September. Do you like the idea?
New Product Alert: Laura Mercier Limited Edition Metallics
While metallics can be a love/hate thing, personally my magpie tendencies always win out. Who can resist the gleam of silver or gold on eyes, cheekbones or even lips (if you're very brave)?
So I'm already a little bit infatuated with the new Laura Mercier Sensual Metals Palette, (£45), available exclusively at Harvey Nichols, from October.
Laura Mercier makeup is always beautifully subtle and skin-enhancing, so I'm intrigued to try her take on the heavy metal trend for Autumn/Winter. The limited edition collection features two palettes, silver and gold, which each contain four tonal shades, in a faux-python, dark silver clutch.
Usually thought of as opposites – where gold works for warm and dark skin tones and silver for cool and pale ones – these shades have been designed to work together for a suits-all-skin tones, subtly glamorous look.
Ideal for conjuring up a smoky doe-eyed effect across the entire lid – the darkest shades have been created to neutralise the brighter and more iridescent hues, for a perfectly executed modern metallic vibe.
The word backstage is that 70s shimmer will be hot for next Spring/Summer too, making metallics the perfect cross over trend.
Heavy metal just got glamorous.
