Just out is the latest launch from Chantecaille called Sylvie Personal Collection. The range consists of four new products in the purple family (a popular colour trend this season) and was inspired by Sylvie Chantecaille, the founder of the brand. It is intended to be a fashion forward range for the chic and sophisticated, stylish city woman with gunmetal packaging and simple yet strong colours.

Last night in East London, Peaches Geldof partied with her mates with newly goth-inspired purple hair and chipped metallic blue nail varnish. I'm quite used to seeing a more reserved side of peaches with blonde or brunette hair, so this dye job came as quite a surprise to me. Vote below and let me know your thoughts on Peaches wild new hair colour.

The sexy vampiress look is coming back again for Autumn '09. As we see on the womenswear catwalks of Italy at the Moschino Cheap & Chic, Frankie Morello and Luciano Soprani shows, a deep berry, almost bloody lip style is all the fashion. I happen to like this edgy alternative to a classic red lip, but it's certainly not something everyone feels comfortable pulling off.

Grunge goth beauty was never supposed to be about the money, so what's with this season's Glam Goth makeup looks (not to mention clothes, thanks Luella) costing so much? I'm not one for scrimping and saving on makeup, but as we are sliding into a recession it makes sense to worry our pretty little heads about prices, every now and then.
Cue my credit crunch-friendly pick of the best products to get autumn/winter's soft goth look, on the cheap.

The palette is poisonous, the inspiration's the teenage goth look, and the result? Next season's hottest beauty trend – Goth Glam or Soft Goth.
From Lanvin (pictured), to Chanel, Fendi and Vivienne Westwood – the runways were stormed by glamorous goths, with deadly nightshade-esque makeup.

This season we're descending to the dark side for inspiration.
Chanel sent out grunge goths with washed-out skin and matted hair, whilst the Yves Saint Laurent models had blood-bitten, black or burgendy stained lips and Viktor & Rolf's girls sported almost cartoonish black ringed eyes.
This is a far cry from the teenage goth looks of yore.

The word Goth, which comes from gothic, is typically used to refer to a youth subculture, which started in the post-punk era of the late 70s and early 80s. Pale skin, piercings, coal-back hair and dramatic makeup are all trademarks of the goth look, for girls, as well as boys.
Achieving a Goth beauty look is all about attitude, as oppose to actual rules.

Leave it to Beth Ditto to make massive amounts of creamy metallic purple eye shadow look acceptable. Her pale skin is contrasted by dark lipstick, on-trend eyes and ahh yes, that fiery orange-red hair!
Talk about someone who's not afraid of a little colour.

While we're basking in the tongue-in-cheek quirkiness of the 80's revival, (think scrunchies and big hair) the 90's renaissance is creeping up on us slowly but surely. Take The Wackness for example, or the recent comeback of 90's supermodels Linda Evangelista (the new face of Prada) and Claudia Schiffer who is fronting the Chanel campaign this season.
The Soft Goth look, which is essentially an 80's style, was revived in the 90's with bands like the Nine Inch Nails.

Model Daisy Lowe looks fresh and pretty on the red-carpet in Liverpool tonight. Minimal blusher and a porcelain complexion give her a glamorous goth look. Daisy's coal-black eye makeup looks suitably starry, while dark blood-red lipstick keeps it elegant.
