At the Dior Spring/Summer Haute Couture show, John Galliano sent out a bevy of brightly dressed, models-as-society-beauties; all with eyes that were loaded with glitter.
Glitter on the eyes is nothing new, but what is different this season is a cabaret meets BoomBox-esque twist, where the glitter is piled on with abandon and spreads out from the eyes, down the cheeks, for a modern take on this starlet classic.
For a big night out, experiment with different coloured glitter – iridescent green and bright gold are hot right now, but bronze is a good starter colour.

All star makeup artist Rachel Wood really had her hands full backstage at the Ziad Ghanem show on Monday evening. Backstage was buzzing with four different types of makeup looks that included goth (dark lips, pale skin), showgirl (long lashes that were cut from feather boas), K.D. Lang (sexy androgyny) and rocker boy (clean face with smudged eyeliner and big hair).

I wouldn't exactly call this a show, rather, it was more like a presentation for Johnny Blue Eyes' 2010 Autumn collection. Held at the Vauxhaull Fashion Scout in Covent Garden, the backstage area for hair, makeup and dressing was set up for tea and cupcakes and filled with bright colours and music. The theme for the show was love, peace and revolution and the makeup (all done by Illamasqua and lead by the Creative Director herself, Alex Box) reflected that optimistic vibe with bold, gold and colourful makeup.

New from Nars is it's 2010 Spring Collection that launched a few weeks ago in-store and online. I absolutely love the mix of the cool lilac and warm brown powder shadows and the shiny hot pink lip gloss paired with an electric purple nail varnish. It's contradictory, but sexy all in the same.

On Friday, Emma Bell showed her 2009 Spring collection which was inspired by cartoons. The clothing was designed in exaggerated proportions in bright neon colours with hints of sequins for an extremist, fantasy club-land feel.
The models wore body paint in addition to coloured tights and retro, 1940's styled hair.

Last night the V&A's beautiful Raphael gallery played host to the 2010 London College of Fashion MA show. 19 young graduates presented two years of hard work with their individual designs. There was a bit of celebrity support for the show including Jo Wood, Jodie Harsh (with amazing candy floss hair), Paloma Faith and Amber Le Bon who told me it was "exciting to see what we can expect in the next few years from British fashion".

Little girls and overactive adolescents can be so much fun to shop for, especially if they're into a certain theme. I've seen lots of tots obsess over all things princess — which means glitter galore!
Then there's the tween crowd who wants to look and act like a young adult even though they're not quite there yet.

At last night's screening of The Road, South African actress Charlize Theron looked stunning in a glittering dress, retro waves and deep, red lipstick — a perfect Autumnal shade. After looking through some of her show stopping red carpet moments, I've noticed that she often changes her lipstick look whilst keeping her cheeks and eyes subtle. Take a peek at these six very different lip looks and vote on the one that you like most!

Halloween is the time of year to live out your hair and makeup fantasies. Let loose next Saturday night and let yourself get creative, or simply put a modern spin on the classics by dressing up as a sexy kitty cat, a feisty devil, a fairy princess or a movie or TV witch.
Then you have your icons like Cleopatra and Twiggy, or perhaps you fancy looking like a pop star.
