It's been a busy week for Tamara Mellon who launched the Jimmy Choo PEP range last night and is soon to launch a collaboration with H&M. She has now added a court appearance to her diary as she takes her own Mother, Ann Yeardye to court. The shoe giant CEO is aiming to claim back £6 million in a Channel Islands courtroom for a breach of contract in the sale of Jimmy Choo to Lion Capital in 2004.

Burberry isn't interested in the credit crunch. The British brand has continually reported a growth in sales throughout the economic downturn and Christopher Bailey, along with CEO Angela Ahrendts, has been a big factor in this. It has one of the biggest budgets for advertising and yet still made the slightly risky decision to return home during London Fashion Week to show one of the most talked about lines for Spring 2010.

Naomi Campbell has long pioneered ethnic diversity on the catwalk having received a boost to her own career from Yves Saint Laurent. The British born model was part of Italian Vogue's historic issue last Summer, but this weekend she spoke out about how there is still a great “injustice” within the fashion industry.
Speaking at the 4th Annual Thurgood Marshall College Fund Front Row Fashion Show she explained, “There is a small group of people whose minds we have to change because we are living in a multicultural society.”
Naomi added, “Nelson Mandela always told me to speak my mind and the consequences will take care of themselves.” She received a fashion icon award at the event which also honoured makeup artist Sam Fine, Oprah Winfrey’s hairstylist, Andre Walker and the late Michael Jackson.

It's the news that women across the globe have been waiting for, and now it seems that the wheels are in motion for it to happen as Tom Ford announces plans to return to womenswear. The American designer is famous for his work with Gucci in the late '90s, but in recent years has been focusing on menswear and film as his directorial debut is premiered around the world.
Last night, Tom was in Tokyo for the premiere of A Single Man and spoke to WWD about his plans for the future, "Financing is extremely expensive right now, so if we find financing in the right situation we’ll be able to start [a women’s collection] soon."

Last month, I asked you if you thought WAGs should sit front row at fashion week and you were pretty divided. Victoria Beckham has worked hard to distance herself from the 'WAG' tag, as has Cheryl Cole, but it seems there's another footballer's wife just waiting in the wings to make her mark. Alex Curran, wife of Steven Gerrard, has been the poster girl for Northern style and the stereotypical Cricket boutique fan for several years and has now caught the eye of British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman.

It would seem that football is having a moment, or rather footballers, as they become the focus of underwear ad campaigns. David Beckham made quite the impression earlier this year as his shoot for Emporio Armani adorned buses, department stores and billboards on both sides of the Atlantic. David has not renewed his contract with the fashion house, but has now passed on the baton to another ex-Manchester United player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
