Lara Stone has shot to fashion stardom this year appearing on many catwalks including Miu Miu, Prada and Chanel and countless magazines. Most recently she scored the cover of Vogue UK where she discussed her previous battle with alcohol. Lara is said to be representing a change in mood with models as the focus shifts away from heroin chic.

There have been plenty of fabulous faces gracing the catwalks in New York, London and Milan over the past month, but a couple of girls have particularly stood out. Australian born Abbey Lee Kershaw has been an integral part of presentations for some of the biggest names in the industry including Ralph Lauren, Burberry Prorsum and Gucci. I wonder if she is taking Jourdan Dunn's runway place whilst she is tied up with other things!

We've nearly reached the end of our look back at five decades of models from Twiggy in the '60s, to Janice Dickinson in the '70s, Yasmin Le Bon in the '80s and the supermodels of the '90s. When compiling a list of key models from the 1980s, I found that it was hard to pin point an era for the great supermodels. These are the girls who began work in the '80s, were huge in the '90s and continue to rack up ad campaigns and catwalk miles even today. In 1990 Linda Evangelista (one of the famous five) playfully told Vogue, "We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day", and she wasn't joking!

Today I continue looking back at classic models as we move on to the 1970s. Obviously, some of the models from the '60s were still a major part of the fashion scene – particularly Lauren Hutton and Penelope Tree – but a few new faces started to emerge too.

Cheryl Cole looks absolutely radiant tonight in a grey, dress accented with crystals, dark lipstick and her hair swept up with shiny, delicate tendrils falling around her face.
The only thing I'm not totally sure about are her Wonder Woman style wristbands, which FabSugarUK will surely be showing you more of tomorrow. However, when it comes to her beauty style tonight, I'm kvelling over her choice of smoky brown shadow rimming her eyes.
