Disappear Here Gets a Launch Issue

Back in April I told you about Peaches Geldof's plans to launch a style magazine called 'Disappear Here'. Well after a much discussed documentary it seems that the magazine has finally got the go-ahead.

It's a joint venture with support from ex Loaded editor James Brown, not to mention Peaches' father, Sir Bob Geldof. Brown featured in the documentary about the making of the magazine which he now describes as, "a bit of a disaster". But added, "I realised Peaches would actually be a really good magazine editor. Both of us are quite outspoken, which can cause friction with your peers, the industry or even the press, but it means you're very focused on a particular world-view and that's what a magazine editor needs to have."

The magazine's first issue will be launched in March (co-incidentally the same time as Katie Grand's Love) and Geldof describes it as a "women's mag that appeals to men". True to outspoken style she added, "When I read Cosmopolitan, Company or Marie Claire I feel so patronised. I'm not spending my time worrying about how to give my husband great sex so he stays with me. This isn't the 1950s. Women's magazines have no sense of humour. That's why I read Vice, GQ or Heat."

A taster of the magazine will be handed out for free this Thursday at record shops, bars, boutiques and clubs in London and New York. It has 120 pages of editorial with no advertising (although the larger issue will). It seems like a bad time to launch a magazine but what do you think are its chances of survival?

Peaches Geldof has decided to take her journalism career in to her own hands with the launch of a new quarterly magazine entitled 'Disappear Here'. The publication is about music, fashion, film, literature and "all pop youth culture".

Peaches has often spoken of her desire to be a journalist and has presented several documentaries so it's not surprising that she has put the wheels in motion for 'Disappear Here' which she will be Editor-at-large of.

The magazine is set to launch before the end of the year but what do you think of the plans? Would you be interested to read a style magazine that was edited by Peaches?

Fab Flash: Details About Peaches PPQ Line Revealed

Plans for Peaches Geldof's collaboration with PPQ were revealed back in March when she wasn't married and Disappear Here was merely a twinkle in her journalistic eye. Now, over six months later details for the release of the collection are finally being revealed.

Speaking to Vogue Peaches explained, "Designing for PPQ has been fun and inspiring. I love that my collection came out exactly as I wanted, blending new romanticisim with gothic undertones."

The capsule collection includes little black lace dresses, tops and high waisted tapered trousers also a handbag complete with everything you need for a night out.

Since Sunday night's episode of Disappear Here I'm sceptical about anything she undertakes but the range will hit Selfridges later this month with prices ranging from £95 to £195. She said her own style, which she describes as, "between very folk, Sixties hippy" and "grunge" influenced her designs. I guess the proof is in the pudding!

A Quick Tip For Super Soft Lips

For a perfectly kissable pout, that no-one can resist – summer lips need more than your usual dose of lip gloss.

Regular, yet gently, exfoliating will ensure that your lips stay super soft and young-looking.

Here's how:

Use simple petroleum jelly and apply generously to the lips.
Next, take a wet washcloth and gently rub the lips, until all the jelly has disappeared, and your lips are dry.
For a rougher scrub, use an old toothbrush or a child's toothbrush that is soft. Gently rub over the lips in circular motions.
Once any white flakes have disappeared, and your lips are dry, but smooth looking – apply a good lip balm, such as Apples & Pears, (£10.50).

Fab Flash: Agent Provocateur Life Drawing in Selfridges

Luxury lingerie label Agent Provocateur have caused a stir during rush hour on Oxford Street this evening as a model has posed naked in the window of Selfridges. The model, Jen, posed whilst she was painted by artist Jacques le Trompet in order to promote the new fragranced 'Stripped'. As soon as the painting was complete the model and artist disappeared behind a curtain. What do you think of the stunt, was it too much?
