It's always exciting when fashion and beauty work together on a new project and tis the case this season between clothing designer Christopher Kane and hair company Catwalk by TIGI. They have joined forces to bring us this seasons must-have Alice band. The knotted faux leather double-strap hair accessory is available from specialty salons as a gift with purchase until supplies last when you buy two Catwalk by TIGI products. Christopher Kane told Vogue,

"I have designed hair accessories prior to this but never took them to market. TIGI suggested it and I thought it would be nice to do… TIGI is all about being creative and I really like that. I also admire that it is a family brand like my own."

Last night, I headed to the V&A Museum to watch the London College of Fashion MA show. The college always has a high calibre of graduates, and this year was no exception. One thing which struck me, was how many students opted for menswear this year. 2011 is already hotting up to be a great year for menswear as more focus is placed upon it (not least because of the launch of Mr Porter), so maybe students realise there is a lot of potential in designing for guys. Indeed, the collection of the year was awarded to Matteo Molinari whose tailored menswear came with a twist. His slim fit trousers had a dramatic high waist and there were androgynous elements.

Other highlights included Susanna Bettencourt's chain embellished, '90s inspired body con dresses and Nam Young Kim's sculptural jackets and midi skirts. Oliver Ruuger's accessories stole the show as the umbrella was given a fetish makeover. The colour palette for the whole show was predominantly dark or neutral. Gareth Pugh unveiled his latest film this week at the Pitti Immagine tradeshow in Florence. He worked with Ruth Hogben and model Natasa Vojnovic, who he has collaborated with on previous films. This time, Pugh introduced colour for the first time featuring gold and blue pieces. The film was projected on to the ceiling the 14th-century Orsanmichele church, The video gave hints about what's to come in Paris at his Autumn '11 show. Late last year, Gisele Bundchen gave birth to her first child, Benjamin, and took some time out from her catwalk career. She appeared in Vogue US in March talking about how she stayed in shape throughout her pregnancy. Since then, she has been showing off her svelte figure in body hugging dresses, but has now returned to catwalk. She appeared in the Colcci show at Sao Paulo Spring/Summer '10-11 fashion week showcasing her post baby figure in several ensembles. Are you pleased to see Gisele return?
