I'm all for bronzer. I love the way it gives me a healthy glow and I even love the look of a good, brown self tanning gel or cream. That being said, I definitely prefer a natural looking tan to an orangey one any day, and in this photo of Eva Longoria Parker at the Par Coeur Gala for Association Make A Wish with Tony Parker, Eva's looking a little off to me.

I was never a big endorser of body bronzers in year's past, but with the launch of this over-sized, dazzling and just the right amount of sparkly Shimmer Brick For Body from Bobbi Brown (£50), I'm totally addicted.
You apply it with the biggest, fluffiest brush that you can find and go to town on your legs, abs, face, decolletage and shoulders. It gives you a gorgeous tinge of tan, with a generous amount of radiance and no traces of orange or glitter whatsoever.

The bronzers I prefer are matte and come in the form of a pressed powder. I like the way they give you a soft, subtle and natural-looking tan without the distraction of shimmer all over your face. Also, they can double as a contour colour when you're looking to define your jaw or sculpt your cheekbones.

Last week, Esteè Lauder previewed their newest Summer collection at House of Fraser called Bronze Goddess. This exquisite line of makeup, UVA/UVB protection-enhanced skincare, (and there's even a fragrance) will be available on 4th May. The textures are phenomenal, and the sun-kissed colours are absolutely breathtaking.

One of my favourite brands, Bourjois, has just launched another great holiday essential, to add to my August Holiday Must-Haves.
Soleil Ambré, (£7.95), is a fantastically subtle bronzing powder, to give you a healthy, weekend-away glow – as seen on the Spring/Summer catwalks at Michael Kors and Etro.
Bronzer is pretty much a beauty essential for summer, and much less messy than a facial self-tan.

Do you stick to the same routine when applying your makeup or do you change things up every now and again? I admit, I'm a creature of habit. I start with a primer, add some foundation followed by concealer, powder, bronzer, blush and a luminiser.

I couldn't help but notice Rihanna at the 2010 Grammy Awards wearing snowy looking eye makeup. She had her lids dusted in a white, frosty shadow similar to Miss Popularity, a best seller from Benefit. In the Summertime, I tend to use corals and more bronzer as my tan deepens, and in the Spring, I'm definitely more of a sucker for pastels and brights to match the blooming flowers.

I asked, and you voted that Bar Refaeli was last night's red carpet beauty queen.
Personally, I was kvelling over her wavy hair, but when I looked a little closer, I noticed her awesome shimmering blue- green eyeliner that was enhanced with a hint of gold in the inner v of her eyes.
Paired with a creamy pink pout and tanned, flushed cheeks, Bar's makeup was aces.

On Friday afternoon, the buzz backstage at the Mattijis van Bergen show all about a creating a fun loving, sexy and Summery feel. Hair was pulled back and teased in the front to create a kind of frizzy, wind-blown effect, whilst makeup was controlled yet luminous using toned down metallics. My pal, the friendly makeup artist Rachel Wood said,
"Because the designer is using copper and bronze jewellery, I wanted to complement the look and accent the eyes with that same colour scheme.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to self tanners. I like to make it look as though I'm glowing from within and have a light bronzey tone my skin tone as opposed to pasty, white and lifeless. This means that if a tanning product even remotely streaks or makes me look yellow or orange, it gets binned immediately.
