On Our Radar: Amy Winehouse Designs Clothing Line

Amy Winehouse loves Fred Perry polo shirts. She is regularly spotted out and about in the sporty style so it's not surprising that the brand wants to cash in on her influence. The singer has created a 17 piece collection for Fred Perry that is due in store in September and is mainly produced from a colour palette of black and pink. It includes dresses, pencil skirts and capri pants (which are all key pieces for Amy). Richard Martin, Fred Perry’s marketing director explained, "Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand’s own historical reference points. She is a loyal fan of classic Fred Perry product, so that is what the designs were focused on developing."

Amy has been taking a break from the music world lately and is mainly in the public eye due to her court appearances or medical problems. However, Fred Perry insist that she has taken this collaboration very seriously and been hands-on. Martin explained, "We had three major design meetings where she was closely involved in product style selection and the application of fabric, color and styling details. Amy gave crucial input on proportion, color and fit. The range clearly has Amy’s handwriting."

No, I'm not insinuating that Amy Winehouse is a coward, in fact, she's anything but a shrinking violet going to court yesterday in a fashionable Vivienne Westwood outfit to fight an assault claim against her. All I'm saying is that Amy's gone blonde! Typically, we see her hair dark and styled in an ultra-teased half up, half down bee-hive. However, it appears that she's added an orangey-yellow streak to the left side of her fringe. Do you like this look on the controversial singer, or would you prefer Amy to go back to black?

Would You Buy Clothing Created by Amy Winehouse?

Hang on to your beehives girls, I definitely didn't see this one coming! It has just been revealed that singer Amy Winehouse will collaborate on a collection for PPQ.

Grazia got the skinny at the Mulberry Romance party from Amy Molyneaux, co-designer of PPQ who said, "The range will be all about high-end statement pieces, inspired by Amy's style. For example maybe an amazing piece of jewellery like a bracelet or a dress. It's going to be distributed online, we are going to be providing all materials and doing the design, but Amy will definitely be involved in the creative process. It will be very different to Peaches' line for PPQ as that was more of a diffusion line - this will be a homage to Amy's look."

I'm intrigued. My bet is that we can expect to see at lease a few body-con dresses, mini skirts (in denim perhaps?) and sweetheart halter tops. Would you be interested in buying Amy Winehouse for PPQ?

A high spirited Amy Winehouse visited her old flat in Camden last night. She wore a scruffy tee shirt but all eyes were on her latest hairstyle. Amy's new short perm looked messy but admittedly super shiny as she scampered around London wearing not a scrap of makeup.

It's refreshing to see Amy making a change from her enormous beehive and I like how this cut makes her hair look naturally thick and healthy. It feels hard to judge Amy's appearance too harshly right now, seeing as she's going through such a rough time. How about you, do you think this new do suits Amy?

Amy Winehouse – Just Say No to Sunbeds

This is one celebrity beauty rumour that I really hope isn't true – Amy Winehouse is allegedly becoming addicted to sunbeds. Apparently the singer has a sunbed fitted at her house in Camden, North London. The rumours are that she's hoping it will help heal, or at least cover up, her numerous scars.

I just want to give Amy a big old hug and a bottle of Johnson's Holiday Skin. Doesn't she know that faking it is the way to go? Especially with all the fantastic, budget gradual fake-tans around this summer.

Sunbeds are like putting your face in the oven. But worse. They emit very strong, UVA and UVB rays, which cause skin damage, and can lead to skin cancer. There are currently strong pleas to the government to ban sunbeds and Cancer Research UK is calling for much greater restrictions, regarding use.

About 65,000 people get skin cancer in the UK, every year, with around 2000 proving fatal. It is the most common cause of cancer in young adults, age 15 to 34. According to The Observer, high pressure sun beds can cause as much damage in minutes to the skin, as an average year's exposure to the sun.

I can't over-emphasise enough how bad for your skin and health sunbeds are. They won't heal or cover scars, on the contrary, they're more likely to irritate your skin, meaning you'll break out as soon as your tan fades, if not before.

C'mon Amy, wake up and smell the burning...

Has Kate Moss's crown as Queen Style Icon of the Festival Season slipped slightly? It seems everyones favourite Croydon girl isn't putting in much effort at this year's Glastonbury festival. Instead Kelly Osbourne seems to be trying out something new with her hippy dress for day two and bright coloured coat of day one. Amy Winehouse also made it to the festival for her performance on the Pyramid stage. She wore a floral applique dress for the show. Who do you think is the best dressed of day two?
