Forget the Frizz-Ease girls, high volume pouffiness is emerging as one of the hottest hair trends for Winter. This week, London's catwalks have been packed with teased hairstyles. Topshop Unique fell in love with the idea of "savage woodland brownies", creating giant frizzy manes for its models using a combination of tonging and backcombing.

The British Fashion Awards presented a highly deserved Christopher Bailey with designer of the year last night. The creative director of Burberry wasn't the only winner as Georgia May Jagger scooped model of the year and plenty of other hard working designer were rewarded for their graft. Now it's time to see who wore what to the fashion oscars.

The 2009 British Fashion Awards take place this evening (you can see a full list of nominees here) and with just hours to go, the British Fashion Council have announced a list of the 25 most powerful in the industry. The list was chosen by a panel which included British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman and contains both household names (Kate Moss, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith) and lesser known industry insiders (Lulu Kennedy, Louis Wilson and Joan Burnstein) highlighting the size and impact of fashion.
It's also interesting how many of the people mentioned have been knighted proving the importance of the industry as a whole to the UK.

It's been raining a lot in the UK lately. I'm a little confused as to where all the water is coming from, but it's fair to say that it's not safe to leave the house without an umbrella. A friend of mine has taken this to new levels by wearing wellies as well!

The stars didn't just have fun with style on the red carpet, they also played with looks throughout the show. The host, Katy Perry, began the evening in a floor sweeping pink gown, but she soon upped the stakes with revealing ensembles. However, she wasn't the only one making a statement, Beyonce, Leona Lewis and Shakira also made their mark.

When I think of French high fashion, I always imagine a beautiful woman with her hair pulled back wearing a perfectly tailored black outfit and strong red lips with a touch of black eyeliner. This classic Parisian look wasn't far off from what we've been seeing on the runways of of the 2010 Spring Paris Fashion Week Shows this week. I spied this look on the models at Emanuel Ungaro, Christian Dior, Devastee and Vivienne Westwood.

It's very nearly time for the fashion pack to fly over the Atlantic and join in with London's 25th anniversary celebrations. I can't remember the last time there was this much hype about the British fashion showcase and I am so excited to see the creations on offer. There is sure to be a lot of buzz surrounding Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Twenty8Twelve and PPQ to name but a few!
