Glitterati: Susan Caplan Vintage Collection

If you love accessories and especially jewellery, you won't be able to prevent yourself from crushing on this amazing collection of vintage and contemporary baubles from Susan Caplan. Yesterday at the Scoop Fashion Show in London, I checked out her offerings and was wide eyed about all of the authenticated pieces from Chanel, Givenchy, Versace and Karl Lagerfeld from the '50s, '60s, '70s, and even 1980s. Think lots of chunky gold items, some encrusted in crystal or adorned with black onyx, enamel, and semiprecious stones.

Susan has always had a passion for jewelry and for antiques. She is a London native and has worked aboard the QEII (a job that took her to markets all over the world) and as an antique dealer. Her collections are now available at Harrods, Selfridges, and Harvey Nicks, and prices are available upon request. I certainly love what I saw, and her other fans include Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Nicola Roberts, and Eliza Doolittle. Would you ever buy vintage jewels?

Lily Allen will soon be sharing her cool Brit girl aesthetic with the masses thanks to the debut of her own collection, under the Lucy In Disguise label, which was first launched with her sister as a vintage store in London last year. Drawing inspiration from Lily's love for vintage pieces, the collection features a variety of throwback creations named after notable people in history such as Fortnums, a '40s-inspired rayon crepe tea dress with a lily of the valley print; Chatsworth, a green high-waisted maxi dress embroidered with gold sequins; and Capone, a black sequined and beaded tulle flapper-style dress. If you're looking for a great costume in London, then look no further than Angels which is an Oscar-winning wardrobe supplier! Last year the store had it's first ever clearance sale and it attracted enormous queues of fashion lovers all hopeful to bag a unique bargain. They've decided to do it again to sell over 250,000 items dating from 1900 onwards.

Expect there to be a lot of military items (very Balmain) with prices fixed at £20 for all coats and helmets and £10 for caps. The sale will take place on Saturday 28th November from 8.30am to 5pm at 3 Boundary Road, Wembley, HA9 7ND. Happy Shopping!

Fab Field Day: Vintage Fashion Fair

Trying to find the perfect additions to your wardrobe doesn't have to start and end on the High Street. If you are looking for something truly unique then you might want to broaden your search to vintage markets and fairs. I recently attended the Primrose Hill vintage fashion fair which takes place once a month at the Cecil Sharp House on Regents Park Road.

This is a great place to earn your fashion stripes as you can hunt for a one off frock, amazing accessories or classic designer pieces. There was an aray of costume jewellery on offer along side investment designs by the likes of Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Vivienne Westwood. There was also some gorgeous milinery and lace gloves which I completely fell for.

Prices were quite reasonable with bargain baskets at many stalls with funky pieces for under £10. There is a fair this weekend in Archway at the Byam Shaw School of Art between 11am and 5pm.
