It's not just Brits that love them some Smythson, it appears that all over the States, this classic UK brand that's been around for over 125 years has been ever popular on the red carpet. For example, last night in New York City, actress Olivia Munn carried the Floating Box Clutch (£595) in gold satin with gold trim to the 2013 Tine 100 Gala. Last week, Amanda Peet carried the same bag in black suede to a premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, whilst Hilary Swank also carried an Envelope Clutch in gold (£450) to a pre-Oscar party in February. Out of these three bags, which do you like best?

It's been a busy six months for the Camerons and it seems it's starting to take its toll on Samantha. Britain's new first lady has just announced that she is resigning from her position as creative director at Smythson. She has been working with the company for 14 years and has decided to leave although will remain on board as a creative consultant.

Samantha is currently five months pregnant and wants to spend more time with her other two children. She commented, "This is a personal decision made when I discovered I was pregnant and one that I have been considering for some time during what has been an understandably difficult year." She is largely credited with putting Smythson on the style map and for organising collaborations with Giles and Erdem.

Erdem has become one of the biggest names at London Fashion Week and even gained attention from Anna Wintour for Spring 2010. The upcoming designer has recently received a big boost from Sarah Brown when she wore one of his designs at the Labour party conference.

He has now followed in the footsteps of Giles Deacon and teamed up with Smythson to create a line of stylish stationery. There are gorgeous diaries which incorporate Erdem's classic prints and a butterfly diary (£87). There are also diaries with Japanese inspired illustrations (£115).
