Forget the Frizz-Ease girls, high volume pouffiness is emerging as one of the hottest hair trends for Winter. This week, London's catwalks have been packed with teased hairstyles. Topshop Unique fell in love with the idea of "savage woodland brownies", creating giant frizzy manes for its models using a combination of tonging and backcombing.

It's been a good week for collaborations! Earlier this week I reported on Jimmy Choo's collection for H&M which is due to hit stores in November, and now I literally just heard about another great capsule line arriving at Whistles in the Autumn.
London based designer Roksanda Illincic is to create pieces for the High Street store which represent her signature style.

Barbie officially celebrated her 50th birthday this week and it seems everybody is marking the occasion with fun merchandise. Paris boutique Colette has launched a whole line of items for the tiny style icon including clothing, hair accessories and home furnishings! The most extravagant has to be the Goyard trunk (€ 2880) complete with a version of the doll and extra accessories.

On Friday the British Fashion Council announced the 2008 winners of Fashion Forward. This year's sponsored designers are Christopher Kane, Erdem, Marios Schwab and Roksanda Ilincic.
The award provides financial support to UK based designers who are showing at London Fashion Week.

Fashion expert Caryn Franklin has been doing her bit to encourage young designers at London Fashion Week. With an illustrious fashion career that includes being Fashion Editor of i-D magazine in the early 80's; Caryn is most famous for her work as the presenter on The Clothes Show from 1986 until 2000. Nowadays Caryn acts as an expert for GMTV as well as various magazines and websites.
