Funky Accessories at New York Fashion Week Spring 2010
New York Fashion week draws to a close today as fashionistas cross the channel to party in London. However, there have been a lot of great Spring shows in the Big Apple and lets not over look the little details that go in to making the looks so fantastic. Here is a quick round up of just a few of the amazing accessories which appeared on the catwalk and are sure to be hot come Spring.
New York Fashion Week, Spring 2010: Rodarte
Rodarte is my favourite New York based design house. Their presentation is always a highlight for me, and Spring 2010 did not disappoint. I was completely in love with Autumn '09 (especially those boots) and struggled to imagine how the girls would top it, but they definitely developed their designs and you could see the progression within their work.
Girls on Film: Daria Werbowy, Flare, Sept. '09
This is a great month for stocking up on glossy magazines. There are so many great cover stars and impressive spreads. This month Daria Werbowy appears in Canada's Flare Magazine posing in some of this Autumn's hottest pieces including those Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte boots.
Would You Wear Thigh High Boots?
Last winter it was all about over the knee boots, now the footwear has stepped it up an inch as thigh high boots are en vogue. This style might remind you too much of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, but it's more wearable than you think. They appeared on the catwalk at Prada and Rodarte to name a few, will you be embracing the style this Autumn?
On Our Radar: Rodarte Design Bridalwear
Rodarte is one of the most exciting brands to show at New York fashion week. The design house run by Kate and Laura Mulleavy creates edgy, directional clothes which are regularly lusted after by the fashion pack. This morning it was revealed that the sister designs are branching out in to bridalwear this Summer for filmmaker Miranda July.
Trend Alert: All Bandaged Up
New York Fashion Week is home to some of the biggest designers including Marc Jacobs and Rodarte, so despite only being one week in to the Autumn '09 fashion showcases some new trends have already begun to emerge.
Taking lead from the amazing success of Hervé Léger's bandage dress, some designers have created items in the same nature for next season. Both Alexander Wang's bandage leggings and Narciso Rodriguez's body con dress suggestively revealed hints of flesh for a seductive look.
Fab Blab: Jourdan Dunn
Jourdan Dunn has been very busy recently appearing on the catwalks in New York and London for the likes of Rodarte (pictured) amongst others. She was famously discovered in Primark in Hammersmith and lives in West London with her Mum. This weekend The Sunday Times caught up with her.

The Mulleavy sisters presented their Autumn line at New York Fashion Week yesterday as the Rodarte collection was unveiled. The two have begun to shape a signature style for the brand which is ever developing and this season saw them taking a step outside of the their typically grunge styling. For Autumn, there was a much more feminine feel to their designs with pastel tones, and softer fabrics.

Trend Alert: Thigh High Boots
A few weeks ago, I asked you if you'd wear thigh high boots and most of you agreed. This Autumn they appeared on the catwalk at Prada and Rodarte to name a few and have since begun to emerge in stores as a key trend for the cooler months. They're only for the truly brave as they certainly make a statement, but are a great way to stay warm.
