Yesterday in New York, Stella McCartney unveiled her Resort 2013 collection in her classic style with a garden party. The British designer held this year's presentation at the East Village’s 19th-century Marble Cemetery, with celebrity guests including Anne Hathaway, Jim Carrey and Solange Knowles. Standouts from the collection include blazers and skirts in hot pink with gold floral jacquards, ivory bell-bottoms with tuxedo stripes, sweaters with sporty neon ribbing and all-over leopard-print. Stella said: "I wanted to inject the collection with optimism. When spring comes, it’s a hopeful time of year and everything starts over." Take a look at the range here and let me know what you think!
The feminine silhouettes and overall prettiness of Temperley has been gaining in popularity since the Middleton sisters — Kate and Pippa — regularly choose the designer. Since collection prices can inch quite high, Temperley's contemporary collection, Alice by Temperley, is the equally feminine but just-a-little-bit-easier line we turn to when we want something special. The resort collection is filled with vacation-worthy dresses — embroidery, lace, and ruffles dominate, but never in a way that harkens back to your childhood days. Resort 2012 continues with an emphasis on colorblocking, tons of color — notably pink and yellow, plenty of vacation-ready dresses, and fresh takes on floral prints. Our favorites from this latest showing of resort collections? Givenchy with its futuristic florals; Celine for its completely modern approach to menswear, subtle femininity, and freshness; Preen's pretty colorblocking; and the exotic, totally pretty prints from Tory Burch and Suno.
