I have spotted so many hats at London Fashion Week that I can't help to think they're the next big thing. All the other women in attendance followed suit with jaunty angled hats, from Sarah Brown's beret to Princess Eugenie's bow adorned head piece.

Arguably the last British couture house, Hardy Amies, sadly went in to administration on Friday. The Saville Row based brand was under the guidance of Ian Garlant following Aimes death in 2003. In the past few weeks it became apparent that the house was struggling financially but it was hoping for a new financial backer.

This weekend the Queen announced her birthday honours list and this year it included Anna Wintour who is to be awarded an OBE for her services to both British journalism and British fashion in the United States. Ms Wintour follows in the footsteps of Glenda Bailey, editor in chief of Harper's Bazaar, picked up an OBE last week.
Wintour became the editor-in-chief of Vogue US in 1988 and has made some enormous achievements whilst there including the September 2004 issue which boasted a record 832 pages.

Carla Bruni has arrived in England with her husband French President Nicolas Sarkozy. They were greeted by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles, but the real question is, what did she wear?! Well, Carla looked uncharacteristically sombre for the occasion wearing a Dior long grey coat with clinched in waist and matching pillbox hat teamed with black flats.
