2010 Oscars Trend: Dramatic Trains
There must have been a lot of busy assistants at last night's Academy Awards as they frantically tried to straighten out trains on dresses for that perfect picture moment! There was a return to classic Hollywood glamour on the red carpet as many stars opted for dramatic frocks. The gowns were produced by a range of design houses including Chanel, Givenchy and Donna Karan.

The 2010 Academy Awards finally arrived last night, and what a show it was! The beauty was fabulous on the whole. I loved Best Actress Sandra Bullock's look, with sleek dark hair and a splash of scarlet lipstick.
Fashion and Beauty Trends From the 2010 SAG Awards
Even though the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards took place a week ago, the hair, makeup, nails, fashion and accessories that we saw on the red carpet will be a part of our style history forever. Whilst FabSugarUS and BellaSugarUS posted live polls on each of the stars as they arrived, FabSugarUK and I have taken a tally at some of the hottest trends and gathered them in a nice little package for your review. Some of my favourite looks from the night include a tanned and sexy Kate Hudson, and an elegantly dressed Diane Kruger, but I'm curious to find out whose looks you like the most.
Trend Alert: Nude Lipstick at the 2010 SAG Awards
We've already seen various leading ladies on the red carpet from the SAG Awards wearing pink lipstick, and the second most popular shade of the night was nude. It ranged from sheer rose to creamy beige, but paired with a smoky eye and tanned skin, the shiny shade is universally flattering. Do You Wear Makeup To Sporting Events?
Model Bar Refaeli and Penelope Cruz both attended the Lakers basketball game in LA with their special gentlemen this week. I couldn't help but notice Bar's pretty pink lips as she sat perched on the floor level right there amidst the action, whilst Penelope sat totally bare-faced, mixed in with the crowd. When I was younger (and single) I always wore makeup and did my hair for sporting events, as it was a great place to catch the eye of a handsome lad.
Whose Half Up Half Down Hair Do You Like Most?
Although, the most prevalent hairstyle at the Golden Globes was the updo, I loved the way that Paula Patton, Diane Kruger, Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Garner wore their hair too. This Old Hollywood, retro-curled, half up, half down look is classic, elegant and stylish. Plus, if you're a fan of the jewels, it also allows you to adorn your hair in diamond clips, or whatever else you fancy.

Trend Alert: Umbrellas and Updo's at The BAFTAs
All of the nominees who chose to walk tonight's BAFTA Awards red carpet wearing their hair up came out on top. About halfway through the glamorous coverage, the skies opened up and the rains came pouring down. Luckily, umbrellas and willing assisants were there to shield the dresses, tuxedo's and all of the hard work of makeup artists and hair dressers.
Trend Alert: BAFTA Award Mermaid Dresses
Last night's BAFTA Awards provided plenty of glamour as most of the ladies opted for maxi dresses (perhaps a sign of the economic times). However, another trend emerged as several of the girls opted for mermaid shaped dresses. Penelope Cruz revealed her shoulders in an Alaia dress with Chopard jewels.
