The Palm Springs International Film Festival kicked off last night with their awards gala attended by some of the most acclaimed stars of the year. They screened Dustin Hoffman's new movie Last Chance Harvey and honored Hoffman, Sean Penn, and the cast of Revolutionary Road among others. Thankfully a sun-kissed from Cabo Leo made the trek to represent his movie. Dakota Fanning looked absolutely lovely and grown up in blue while Anne Hathaway traded in her dramatic hair and pantsuit for a LBD. As if LA isn't full of enough star power, it's only about to get brighter over the next few nights of award shows starting with last night's red carpet beauties.

Actors Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly have finally sold their 9-bedroom, 3.5-bath Victorian townhouse in Brooklyn, which they put on the market in May. The Bettany-Connelly Prospect Park pad still stands in my mind as the one of the most impressive celebrity digs I've yet to take a gander at. Not only are the prewar architectural elements absolutely stunning and nonpareil, but also the couple made simply tasteful interior design choices that create bold, uncompetitive statements throughout the house. My theory is that the combination of the Brooklyn home's overwhelmingly good looks and the couple's joint hotness was just too much to handle. So, they've purchased a nice and modern, but not-so-awesome penthouse in TriBeCa for $6.92 million. The new digs do have a roof deck overlooking the Hudson River and all of the luxe amenities you'd expect a celeb to have, but nothing exciting beyond that. Is Brooklyn over for the Hollywood elite? According to Brownstoner, Jennifer Connolly and Paul Bettany have put their historic, prewar 9-bedroom, 3.5-bath Prospect Park (Brooklyn) Victorian townhouse on the market for $8.5 million. The handsome couple is ditching their park-front manse in favor of a TriBeCa loft, just as Scarlett Johansson and Kevin Spacey are leaving the neighborhood. The Olsens, the Kates, Eve, Dita, Liv, Jennifer Connelly and more came out in support of Seventh on Sale last night in NYC. The ultra all white Olsen look was an excellent contrast to many of the deep colors or all-black attires. MAC ladies, Eva and Dita went glam and gold while Jennifer and Kate went red. Once again Kate Moss makes anything look amazingly stylish. Fashion designers like MJ, DVF and Francisco Costa were also in attendance. Blake Lively lived it up like a real Gossip Girl who gets to attend events with Anna Wintour. Seems a bit more Blair-like than Serena but we're loving it!

The dinner gala took place at NYC’s 69th Regiment Armory. The event is in support of 7thonsale which is an auction on eBay or shopping in store in NYC for designer clothes and items worn by celebrities. 100% of the proceeds go to those in need of help living with HIV and AIDS. Sounds like a great cause so it's no wonder it has so many supporters.

Some of Hollywood's most well respected actors — from Julia to Helen to Jennifer Connelly — came out in LA last night for the 16th Annual BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards. Kate Winslet went from her casual LAX look to stunning on the red carpet to receive the Artist of the Year Award. Reese popped over from her Children's Defense Fund event in the same dress to pay homage to some of her colleagues. Denzel was also among the night's honorees receiving the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. That's a mouthful. The streets of Manhattan were teeming with celebrity families yesterday evening as the costumed youngsters went from door to door, probably giving a few unsuspecting families a surprise when they opened their doors. Trick or treat! Soho was the 'hood for Julianne Moore and her little gnome and Wonder Woman also Ed Burns holding the hand of his precious Snow White. The West Village was more Liv Tyler, Royston and Milo's speed in their outfits — way to be a little un PC there with the costumes on the parents? Milo looked beefy like Henry as Spidey, though. In the same area Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany brought around Kai and Stellan in his little Star Wars outfit. Hope all these adorably disguised kiddies scored big on Halloween night. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for everyone!

Reservation Road premiered in LA last night, bringing out the movie's four big name stars. Joaquin, Mark, Jennifer and Mira all looked happy to be reunited on the red carpet, but I'm sure they were all missing their other all star costar, Elle Fanning. Jennifer Connelly was obviously too busy reveling in her new deal to be the face of Balenciaga to realize that the designer's runway look doesn't translate too well to the everyday premiere. Two words: Hot mess. With all the super dramatic movies opening this weekend it's hard to choose just one. Jennifer Connelly was looking precious in her ski hat on the set of He's Just Not That Into You. It looks like Aniston isn't the only Jennifer getting married in this movie, but in real life Jennifer Connelly already has the support of a beautiful family of her own. She got a special visit from her husband Paul and their cute son Stellan. They even took some time to play the ever so popular 1,2,3 wheeee game.
