Last night in London, all of the fabulous faces in music gathered at the 02 Arena to celebrate the 2013 BRIT Awards. Taylor Swift flew in from across the pond to heat up the cold red carpet wearing her hair straight and sassy clad in Ellie Saab, whilst the London fash pack like Jourdan Dunn and Alexa Chung also made an appearance. Find out what everyone was wearing by clicking through my slideshow here!
British pop star Paloma Faith has an exciting out-there fashion sense, but when it comes to her lipstick she likes the traditional approach. Often seen at events wearing a slick of bright red across her pout, Paloma certainly knows how to work the timeless classic look. She told The Telegraph it was her cousins who advised her on makeup from the age of nine:
"They all had their icons — I chose Madonna. I'd try to copy her look from the Vogue video, carefully drawing on a beauty spot. One cousin taught me how to do the lipstick: 'apply, blot and re-apply' was her method, and she'd always go a little over her lipline to make her pout look bigger. When I was old enough to wear lipstick I followed her advice, always opting for a red shade. I passed the tip on to my mother, who liked a hot-pink lip."
Do you follow the apply, blot and re-apply method?
Velvet, satin, netting, lace and sheer fabrics were all on display at the Dark Shadows premiere in London last night. Michelle Pfeiffer wore a satin burgundy strapless Lanvin dress with Sergio Rossi peep toe heels for the UK premiere at Empire Leicester Square, while Helena Bonham Carter was unsurprisingly eye-catching in a Vivienne Westwood frock with heaps of netting. Chloe Moretz embraced British culture by wearing a red McQ Alexander McQueen AW12 dress in velvet and broderie anglais. Her costar Eva Green also went for velvet in Tom Ford, while Bella Heathcote wore lace Pucci and Paloma Faith was in sheer Dolce & Gabbana. Last night in London, anybody who is anyone in the British music industry gathered at the O2 Arena for the BRIT Awards. I asked you to vote on all of your favourite style and beauty looks that I thought stood out most from the evening, but this morning, I bring you the entire gamut of guests that walked the red carpet. Browse through my slideshow and vote on the best dressed here!
It's not just you and me who tweet to the world about their favourite beauty finds. Nope, celebrities do it too. Of course it's questionable if they are getting paid to do it, or if they are just sharing their opinions, considering that Kim Kardashian and Soulja Boy get paid up to £6,000 per tweet (hard to believe, isn't it)? I'll let you be the judge. Check out these five tweets from Lady GaGa, Paloma Faith, Louise Roe, Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole and let me know if you think they're pimping something out, or if they're simply just showing their love.
Last night, celebrities and theatre fans gathered together to watch opening night of Cirque Du Soleil's performance of Totem at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Paloma Faith certainly got in the spirit matching her face makeup to her dress, whilst Donna Air kept things simple in a black mini with a Peter Pan collar. Eva Herzigova walked the red carpet in ruched burgundy dress and Frankie Essex sported a tight, bright coral frock for the festive affair. Out of these four looks, whose do you like best?
The past couple of nights have been chock-o-block with red carpet events, where women typically show up looking glammed to the nines in safe, yet sexy, hair and makeup looks. However, there are a few daredevils out there who aren't afraid to push the envelope and try something different — no matter what people think!
Take Nicki Minaj fo example. At the American Music Awards nominees press conference, she arrived looking a bit like Smurfette with yellow and blue hair. Paloma Faith also dyed her hair two different shades of fiery reddish orange and yellow at a Perrier Jouet champagne party in London on the same night, and last night in Los Angeles, reality TV star Audrina Patridge arrived with blond extension tips on her typically brunette or universally highlighted hair. Out of these three two-tone hair colours and styles, whose do you think was the most outer limits?
London Fashion Week drew to a close yesterday with a few more shows.
