In 2005, Hunter was thrust in to the limelight when Kate Moss chose to wear some of their boots to Glastonbury. The model teamed them with some barely there shorts and a waistcoat creating an iconic festival look. Ever since then, the boots have become a staple on the festival circuit. The brand is 155 years old, but had previously been reserved for practical wear!
The Scottish company have now decided to build on their success by launching outerwear. Wendy Svarre, chief executive officer of Hunter Boot USA told WWD, "Outerwear was really a natural extension with the DNA of our brand. We are known for the outdoors and high-performance footwear. It just took a while to find the right factories in Asia."
The new collection will include a trench with a zip-out red lining, a hooded white parka with fur trim and an A-line wool peacoat. Hunter will launch the new pieces in July (in time for festival season). Are you excited to see what the designs are like?
