Buying something for your boss can be a bit stressful, so hopefully some of my beauty-finds below will help inspire the perfect, suitable gift for the lady in charge. Remember not to buy anything overly expensive that you can't afford since she knows how much you make, yet this isn't the place you want to skimp either since it's still important to find something classy and impressive.
I suggest a beautiful atomizer, compact or indulgent hand cream.

There are a few different types of mates at the office. The first (and the most fun to shop for) is your go-to buddy. He or she is the one that knows anything and everything about your day from water-cooler gossip to what projects you're working on.

It can be tricky choosing a gift for someone that you work with, especially if your office is doing a grab-bag style where you need to find appropriate for a wide audience. I find that neutral makeup palettes, fragrances that you like (after all, you're going to be smelling it all day), rich hand creams and scented candles are the sort of presents that are well received by all.
I especially love this luxe Miller Harris 4 Soap Gift Set (£35) because it's not something you'd necessarily buy for yourself, but is lovely to have for a guest loo or spare room.

Rumours have been rife recently that Victoria Beckham's next business venture is to set up a modeling agency in New York with Simon Fuller. The singer turned designer was apparently in talks with 19 management to set up an office for Storm Models stateside after Fuller bought a 51% stake in the agency earlier this year.
Victoria has recently denied these claims with a spokesperson saying, "Victoria is concentrating all her efforts on her fashion line and her family."

As far as cult beauty buys go Benefit's Badgal Lash mascara, (£14.50), has long been a contender for the prize for the best mascara out there. If you want big, bad lashes in the darkest coal black this is your girl. Now in the wake of the coloured mascara trend, they've launched a version in deep plum.

This product is something of a cult classic and until very recently I though there wasn't a woman on the planet who didn't know quite how amazing it was. Then I spent two nights in a small town, for a hen weekend, and got talking to the girls.
Turns out none of them had tried Touche Eclat, (£22.50), as it was so pricey.

In summer I flip between aiming for stylishly low-maintenance, in hommage to Ms Moss, and wanting to look perfectly polished like those Upper East Side Gossip Girl. Does anyone else suffer from Summer Beauty Schizophrenia?! Finally, though I've got my summer nail varnish colours, erm, nailed.
