Spearmint Stays Strong For Spring 2013

Colours come in and out of style fairly quickly in fashion, however, mint green has been a pastel shade that has stayed its course for Spring throughout three seasons now. Just look at Cheska Hull last night at OK! Magazine editor's 40th birthday party in London wearing a mint dress, or Naomi Watts spotted a few weeks ago in the airport with a spearmint bag and Katy Perry donning a sage dress at the Grammy Awards. I personally love this crisp colour and have had a blast shopping for spearmint clothes and accessories here to spice up my Spring wardrobe. How do you feel about mint green fashions?

The girls from Made in Chelsea never disappoint when it comes to looking on-trend, which is why it's no surprise to see these amazing two cutting edge nail looks on Cheska Hull and Gabriella Ellis. Cheska dons a Dipped in Sugar Manicure from Original Sugar that she just tweeted about saying, "@OriginalSugar_ love my nails!!!! Thank you! Xxx", whilst Gabriella posted photos on Instagram with the caption, "My liquorice all sorts nails by @originalsugar_ love them x" about her Liquorice Bullionaire Mani. The Original Sugar team kindly explained how you can re-create the same styles at home in just three easy steps. Here's what to do:

Dipped in Sugar Manicure

Begin with clean, dry nails. Apply base coat and one layer of polish
Next, douse the glitter sprinkle over your wet nails
Simply apply a layer of top coat to seal the glitter

Liquorice Bullionaire Manicure

Prepare the natural nail by applying a base coat and one layer of colour to clean, dry nails.
Gently press the bullion beads onto the wet polish so they lie flat
Apply a layer of top coat to seal the beads and the polish

Londoners Add a Splash of Brights to Their Spring Ensembles

We all know the dress code in London is pretty much black, white and grey with a touch or red or perhaps a hint of yellow here and there, but last night at the Vinspired National Awards and at the Body Shop in Westfield Mall in London, the ladies surprised on the red carpet by adding a twinge of bright colour to their outfits. A big congratulations to Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh and her musician husband-to-be Professor Green. The two became engaged last night at Millie's favourite restaurant in Paris - how romantic! Apparently the professor also filled their hotel room with red roses. Millie flashed her new bling on twitter saying, "If I could scream loud enough for the whole world to hear I would."

Her ring, from Frost of London on Bond Street is a radiant-cut diamond set on two eternity bands also made of diamonds. The stone is exquisite, but what also caught my attention was her interesting, angular shaped nails that were polished in a subtle nude colour like the one pictured above. Purple Lipstick For The Perfect Spring Pout

Forget deep wine-stained lips, this new purple that's been making it's way around England is bright, festive and playful. Take Gabriella Ellis from Made in Chelsea for example. Her metallic almost magenta shade brightens up her whole look. Then there's Jodie Williams who was spotted a couple of weeks ago at a benefit in Marylebone wearing a similar shade and Lia Toby in a darker, more matte tone, but also in the same fun colour family. In a Winter appropriate chic ensemble, Millie paired red coated denim with a Moncler jacket, fur scarf, fur-trimmed leather gloves, an Aspinal of London black tote, Ash high-top trainers and a cashmere, cable-knot pom pom beanie with bright pink nails and curls in her hair. Get excited because tomorrow is the official kick off of London Fashion Week. Now that New York Fashion Week is beginning to wind down, we can take a deep breath and prepare ourselves for more quirky, out of the box designs that London is renown for. Along with the sneak preview of the clothing collections, I personally love the avant garde beauty looks that emerge from backstage along with the fabulous street style and people watching in the front rows. And how fun is this new nail varnish created by Nails Inc for Vodafone for London Fashion Week that Millie Mackintosh is modeling at Somerset House? Enter Milly Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea who was spotted walking down The King's Road just last week carrying a stunning Aspinal of London Brook Street Exotic Print Tote Handbag (£695) in black lizard. She matched this classic tote with a pair of black and gold Lambrini D Suede Chain Trim Loafers from Dune (on sale now for £56). And if that's not enough mixing High Street with designer brands for you, Mills added a gorgeous Monogram Beige Shawl from Louis Vuitton (£235) into her ensemble. Despite only wearing a green metallic hue on her nails as her only colour, she walked Chelsea sans makeup in basic black.
