I've been carrying around my new Big Bang Illusion Gloss (£19.57) in Infinite for about a week now, and I think I'm finally acquainted enough to give you some straightforward feedback. This pain-free lip plumper launched in March and it contains what creator Poppy King refers to as "my exact ratio of shine to shimmer to create the illusion of fuller lips."
What I love about Big Bang is that it only creates the effect of a plumper, so you don't have to endure any painful prickles when it's applied.

Last night at the Sherlock Holmes New York Premiere, leading lady Rachel McAdams glided along the red carpet in a black gown and sexy, smoked out eyes. On Monday, we welcomed her to the UK for the London Premiere where she wore a grey dress and a deep wine Sinner lip shade from Lipstick Queen (find out how to recreate her hairstyle here). Out of these two opposing makeup styles, which do you think looks the most beautiful on Rachel McAdams?

I have to admit that sometimes I cringe when I see girls on the tube apply full makeup. For a start, how can they do it on such a bumpy train ride? However, truth be told, I'm not averse to touching up my lipstick during the morning commute although I'd draw the line at mascara or foundation.

Glamour girl Katie Price pulled out all the stops for an over-the-top beauty look last night. She attended the Movida club launch party and mingled with the likes of Paris Hilton. Jordan seemed proud of her Carrie Bradshaw-esque Eiffel tower clutch bag, but personally, I couldn't take my eyes of her makeup.

Backstage at the Harriet's Muse show, yesterday at London Fashion Week, internationally renowned makeup artist Rachel Wood was working her magic on the models. The inspiration behind the graphic, cartoon makeup looks was Hollywood screen siren meets Disney.
"I wanted to do Audrey Hepburn eyes and Marilyn Monroe lips" Rachel told me "but as though Disney was doing a cartoon version of them."

For Autumn/Winter, Dolce & Gabbana, Paul Smith and Jean Paul Gaultier all showed beautiful models wearing – I kid you not - headscarves. Yes, it seems that the hitherto frumpy style, beloved of Hilda Ogden and the Queen, is back.
As part of the new season's obsession with traditionally British heritage looks – such as tweed, tartan and Country House chic – the bright, print silk headscarf is back on our radar.
