Last night at the Run For Your Wife UK Premiere in London, Singer Sarah Harding and actress and TV presenter Denise Van Outen walked the red carpet looking like sisters in body skimming black lace dresses. Whilst black lace can sometimes look tartish or cheap if worn too tight or too short, when styled with a classic clutch, heels and a beautifully polished hair and makeup look, it can have the opposite effect. Last night at the People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, actresses Ashley Greene and Kristen Bell arrived all dolled up in dresses that were made of both racy lace and leather. Across the pond in London, this fashion is also very much on the forefront, as we saw Layla Manoochehri donning a cream lace top paired with a black leather skirt at the UK premiere of Margin Call on Monday evening, and Madonna wearing a lace cape with red leather gloves at the W.E. premiere last night. Last night, red carpets from across the Atlantic were lined with lovely ladies wearing black lace, body-con clothing. Abigail Clancy and Daisy Lowe (in Jexika) were spotted at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in the UK wearing black lace dresses, whilst Brooke Burke attended the Warrior premiere in a lace dress, and Khloe Kardashian made an appearance on a TV talk show in New York also wearing a black lace blouse. This style always walks a fine line between classy and trashy, depending on the type of lace and how the outfit is styled. Last night in Los Angeles at the premiere of Blake Lively's new film, The Green Lantern, she walked the red carpet in a long, flowing white dress detailed with lace overlay. The look was flawless with her Rapunzel-like hair tied into a loose plait and embellished with a yellow and diamond brooch. I love this ethereal style on Blake as she's tall enough to carry the dress while her long legs peeping through keep everything young. This is actually a look that she keeps repeating. We saw her last year in a black Marchesa lace-overlay mini and again on the set of Gossip Girl with an exquisite grey lace-overlay gown. Out of these dress dresses, which one do you like most?

The penchant for lace has been around for several seasons, but it seems to be reaching a climax through the festive period as increasing amount of the fabric appear on the High Street. I have noticed a lot of celebrities wearing lace leggings to mixed success. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted in '80s attire wearing a cropped pair on the set of the Sex and the City movie, and then Stella McCartney wore a pair of lace paneled leggings from her own line (£736) at her Christmas lights party. Since then both Zoe Salmon and Lisa Snowdon have been spotted rocking the item as well. Will you be wearing lace leggings this winter?

Trend Alert: Lace Blouse

If you want to really indulge your feminine side this season then why not get yourself a lace blouse? There are so many currently available on the High Street with pretty cape sleeves.

Dare to bare by wearing your blouse over a black bra with a blazer or tuxedo jacket. Alternatively, hint at the trend with a lace panel blouse (£152). I would wear a lace top with tailored trousers for an androgynous look.

Look for Less: Prada Lace Skirt

Lace is a key trend for Autumn 2008 most prominently appearing on the catwalk at Prada where skirts, dresses and bags were made out of the delicate fabric. However, now that the trend has begun to filter on the High Street you no longer need a Prada budget to stay on trend.

Earlier this week I suggested ways to wear lace tights and today I have managed to find the Prada lace skirt look for less. Team the style with a crisp blue shirt (like on the catwalk at Prada) or with a funky printed t-shirt for an edgier look (like Fearne Cotton).

This season Principles has a number of on-trend pieces for a lot less than designer prices. This black lace skirt (£59) is a great example of this showing how the High Street store is often a forgotten gem!

The print isn't exactly the same as at Prada but the shape is very similar and also very flattering. The skirt has a neutral lining meaning you won't reveal as much as the models on the catwalk. What do you think of the style?

Style for Style: How to Wear Lace Tights

Last week I suggested ways to wear coloured-opaque tights, and today I'm continuing the tights focus with on-trend lace. Lace appeared on the catwalk at Prada where it shaped everything from skirts, dresses and handbags, but how does that translate to mere mortals like us, you ask?

There is a lot of lace on the High Street nowadays, but wearing them in the form of tights is an easy way to look stylish without going all out. They are also classy and look incredible when paired with another Autumn trend; tartan. I decided to team a pair of Fantasia tights by Jonathan Aston (£10) with a traditional tartan mini skirt for an Agyness Deyn-style punk look.

For how to wear white lace

When I first saw white lace tights, I could think of nothing more than turning them into a pair of fingerless gloves like Madonna's in the '80's, however, I finally styled myself in a ensemble that's both chic and easy to wear. This Sweet Rose Lace (£11) pair reminds me of what I used to wear as a little girl. I matched them with funky t-bar heels and a Prince of Wales check knee-length dress so that I didn't look too Lolita. Which of these two different lace looks do you prefer?

Celeb Style: Fearne Cotton

Fearne Cotton was spotted leaving Radio One this weekend that was so packed with High Street items that I'm beginning to wonder whether she is to be the next face of Topshop.

She wore a plain white t-shirt which states 'Love My Bones' with a so-on-trend-it-hurts lace bolero and added colour with red boots and a maroon handbag.

Her outfit shows how easily you can update your wardrobe for the Autumn months. The lace bolero will set you back a mere £25 and completely changes an otherwise quite plain ensemble. See below to copy her style.
