Nina Ricci-clad Carey Mulligan wielded an umbrella to premiere The Great Gatsby in rainy Sydney today. She had the help of costars Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton and director Baz Luhrmann to debut the film Down Under while Joel Madden, who is currently a judge on the Oz version of The Voice, was also in attendance. Last night wasn't the first time the Gatsby crew donned umbrellas as accessories since their Cannes premiere last week got rained on as well.

Mr. Gatsby himself, Leonardo DiCaprio, didn't make it to the latest press stop since he's still in Cannes unwinding. After wrapping his work duties, he let loose flirting in a Cannes nightclub over the weekend and later hit the water to take part in the yacht scene. Isla Fisher also missed out on the premiere in her native Australia since she debuted her other project Now You See Me in NYC last night.

Taylor Swift got glamorous in an Elie Saab gown to hit the red carpet today at the 2012 ARIA Awards held at Sydney's Entertainment Center. Also in attendance for the show were brothers Joel Madden and Benji Madden, as well as Nicki Minaj, who donned one of her signature colorful looks. Joel, who is a judge on Australia's The Voice, has spent plenty of time Down Under over the last year and was happy to be back. He tweeted, "ARIAs was big tonight — awesome. I came home to get a second wind and heading out!"

Taylor was excited to attend the ARIAs for the first time. Alluding to her new single "I Knew You Were Trouble," Taylor wrote on Twitter, "So excited about performing on the ARIAs tonight! Never been before. Here's comes 'Trouble!'" She also took the stage to present male artist of the year to "Somebody That I Used to Know" singer Gotye, who ended up taking home four awards in total. Although they were unable to attend the show, One Direction snagged best international artist and accepted the recognition by video.

Nicole Richie turns 31 today! It's been an eventful year for her. In the last month alone, Nicole launched her Macy's line, hit up a star-studded wedding in Cabo San Lucas, and debuted her first fragrance. A busy schedule hasn't prevented Nicole from running with a fabulous group of friends, though. Nicole Richie and Camila Alves came out to celebrate Macy's Glamorama 30th anniversary event in LA last night. Nicole had husband Joel Madden by her side, while pregnant Camila showed off her bump solo on the red carpet. Robin Thicke was on hand to perform at the event, and Sharon Stone took the stage as well. Sharon chatted with us on the carpet about how AIDS prevention is a big cause for her, and Nicole talked about heading to NY Fashion Week on Monday. Camila, meanwhile, connected the evening's AIDS cause to husband Matthew McConaughey's latest role, for which he's lost almost 30 pounds.

Joel Madden returned home from a trip to Sydney yesterday and soon went out on a couple's shopping trip in LA with his Vanessa Bruno-clad wife, Nicole Richie. The pair stopped by Lindy & Grundy's butchers, then paid a visit to The Commissary for coffee. Joel may have needed the caffeine after his 72-hour trip to Oz, where he and his brother Benji presented at the ARIA awards. The Good Charlotte singer might be spending more time Down Under in the coming months since Joel's mentoring on the Aussie version of The Voice with Keith Urban and Seal. Nicole is also doing her own work in front of the cameras in 2012, sharing the small screen with Jessica Simpson on Fashion Star.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were among the famous faces at a Band of Outsiders and Net-a-Porter Summer bash in LA last night. Busy Philipps and Andrew Garfield also came out to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for the event, which featured a screening of Bill Murray's Meatballs. It was Nicole's second outing of the week after she attended the launch of Charlotte Ronson Beauty at Il Sole on Tuesday. Busy was on hand during a break from the set of Cougar Town, which her costar Courteney Cox was spotted filming with a few canine friends earlier this week. Andrew, who recently celebrated his 28th birthday, showed his support for the brand and posed with creative director Scott Sternberg while Sarah Silverman chatted with Busy and other pals.

Nicole Richie cozied up to her husband, Joel Madden, last night at the Vans X Jessie Jo launch party at LA's Troubadour. The parents of two partied alongside Joel's brother, Benji, as well as pals like Samantha Ronson and even Cher. Nicole wrapped up her daily stint at the gym to attend the bash, and she showed off the products of her hard work in a spread for the upcoming The Block magazine. She also teamed up with her trainer, Tracy Anderson, for a new video showcasing the dance fitness method they both love. Joel got in on some taped fun recently as well by creating a piece for Funny or Die.

Elton John held his 19th Annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party at the Pacific Design Center last night. He performed on stage with Florence Welch, and Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale let loose on the dancefloor. Elton invited lots of Brits to his Oscars shindig, including Katie Price, Terri Seymour, and Sharon and Kelly Osbourne. Plenty of couples engaged in PDAs, like Heidi Klum and Seal, Darius Campbell and Natasha Henstridge, and Petra Nemcova and Jamie Belman. Other pairs who posed for pictures included Dave Annable and Odette Yustman, Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy, and Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. Inside the bash, Emma Roberts partied with Chace Crawford and Hayden Panettiere, and Elton posed with Kim Kardashian. Jamie Foxx and Steven Tyler hung out, and David Furnish chatted with Ryan Kwanten. Elton also had a laugh with Smokey Robinson and Cee Lo Green. Costars Rashida Jones and Paul Rudd walked the red carpet, as did Eric Stonestreet and Eric McCormack, while Prince, Rufus Wainwright, and Billy Zane enjoyed the do. Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, and Jenna Ushkowitz brought some Glee too.
