It's a Love-Hate Thing: 12 Designers Weigh In on Kate Middleton's Style

Love her style, hate her style, or love to hate her style: it seems that quite a few fashion designers have had something to say about Kate Middleton's sartorial choices.

Love her style, hate her style, or love to hate her style: it seems that quite a few fashion designers have had something to say about Kate Middleton's sartorial choices. Roberto Cavalli is the latest to speak out about the Duchess of Cambridge, and he's hoping to bring out her sexier side. Some industry insiders praise her for wearing high street, while some wish she'd fully embrace the grandeur of "being a princess." With her due date quickly approaching, we can expect even more fashion types to weigh in on her maternity and postbaby style. But for now, a look at Middleton's effect on the fashion world below.

Christopher Kane
"It's a shame she doesn't wear more designers. I don't really like the high street getting so much of the credit. I understand that there would be an array because you need to relate to so many people in the market, but she is a princess. If I were a princess, I'd be like, 'Oh yeah, bring it on.'"
— in a November 2011 interview with WWD.

Karl Lagerfeld
"Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties."
— in an interview with The Sun.

More designers weigh in, here.

Let's Be Social: A Week of Stylish Social Media Snaps

Last week in the world of social media, it was all about spending time with fashionable friends and sharing sweet snaps along the way.

Last week in the world of social media, it was all about spending time with fashionable friends and sharing sweet snaps along the way. Poppy Delevingne and Henry Holland played a game of telephone (with sparkly heels, no less), and Sienna Miller snuggled with her baby girl, Marlowe, during a daytime birthday party. Coco Rocha set sail across the Sydney Harbour as fellow model Bar Refaeli shaded her face from the sun during a beach day. Prabal Gurung posed with his high-profile celebrity pals at his Vogue MAC Cosmetics event (just imagine being able to call Zoe Saldana and Diane Kruger your friends!), while BFFs Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn hit the kitchen for a cooking segment. Cara Delevingne shared a snap of the "weirdest breakfast ever" — and can you guess which model mom got back to nature with a horseback ride to the beach?

Throw a Nana Rave Party Like It's 1989 at House of Holland

Located in a car park central London on Saturday night, the House of Holland show was full of more energy than ever before.
House of Holland Makeup London Fashion Week

Located in a car park central London on Saturday night, the House of Holland show was full of more energy than ever before. The theme was "Granny Rave" with a nod to shag carpeting that lined the runway and curtain prints, grass greens and putrid pinks making a big comeback, but with a 1989 setting. Henry describes the show as, "part Disco Sally and Summer of Love ‘89. The look is Nana Rave in a car park. Like I've kidnapped my grandmother, and dressed her in her old curtains."

The soundtrack: Such A Good Feeling by Brothers in Rhythm
Front row: Pixie Geldof, Jaime Winstone, Daisy Lowe, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Nicola Roberts
Post show highlight: Nicola Roberts tweeting “My favourite EVER HOH collection!! Henry IS London fashion week."
