The theatre was packed out for Monday afternoon's University of Central Lancashire show as twenty graduates presented their final collections. They opened the week last year, but 2009 students were just as memorable. Francesca Daw Watt produced one of my favourite collections of the day with her shoe lace fringed pieces.

I wouldn't normally share menswear designs with you, but yesterday the Royal College of Art's graduate show included a high amount of pieces for guys and they were so good that I couldn't resist sharing them with you. The womenswear was good, but it was really the creativity here that impressed me.

Officially Graduate Fashion Week came to a close yesterday with the gala show awarding the brightest young talent. However, this morning, one of the most prestigious post graduate institutes, The Royal College of Art, presented their fashion MA collections. Christopher Bailey, Ossie Clark and Zandra Rhodes form part of this college's alumni, but judging by today's talent there is sure to be many more names joining them very soon.

FabSugar UK has been front and centre watching all of the action at Graduate Fashion Week. I've been oggling the runways and have noticed a trend amongst these up and coming designers. Besides having their models sport the blue steel pout, three key schools opted for pulled back hair to ensure that their clothing gets all of the attention it deserves.

Last night Graduate Fashion Week came to a climax as the top students presented their collections again in front of judges Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson, Lorraine Candy and Richard Bradbury. They selected the winner of the Gold award and it went to Rochester student Myrto Samou!
Looking completely shell shocked she walked to the end of the catwalk with her winning designs whilst she was showered in gold confetti.

Much like the Westminster show earlier in the week, there was a lot of buzz surrounding Ravensbourne's College. Most of this hype has likely built up because last years winner, Jessica Au, is part of the Ravensbourne alumni. There were so many amazing graduates in this show that it will be difficult to mention them all, but here is literally the cream of the crop.

The third day of Graduate Fashion Week got underway with a show from Manchester School of Art. The style of this Northern city is very individual with a vintage twist, so I had high expectations for these young designers. A big shot of colour came with Ashley Farrall's printed designs.

There was a lot of buzz surrounding Monday evenings University of Westminster show. The theatre was packed to the rafters with people eager to see the latest names from one of the most creative universities. Last years graduate show was my favourite so I was eager to see what 2009 would offer – I was not disappointed.

Nottingham Trent University opened the second day of Graduate Fashion Week 2009. The university famously associated with Sir Paul Smith always presents a good selection of students and today was no exception. There was a wide range of styles on show for both mens and womenswear including many knitwear designers.
