Floral dresses are a key Summer item, so why shouldn't this print extend to swimwear? This Summer why not head to the beach or the pool in this style which is currently all over the High Street. The bright colours are great for relaxing in the sunshine and I have fallen for the charm of vintage prints like Topshop's bikini (£25).

New Look have created a twist on the style with this embroidered halter neck top (£8) which would be good for a sunny festival as well as the beach. See below for more flower design swimwear.

Ever since I spotted Whitney Port wearing a floral playsuit on The Hills, I have been lusting after this very fun item! Now that the days are longer and it is starting to feel warmer, I can start seriously considering a purchase.

Short playsuits are a great way to wear this must-have item. They are much more flattering than their longer-legged sister (the jumpsuit) which can end up looking frumpy. For hot summer days, the best way to keep cool is in a spaghetti strap version, like this one by Zimmermann Babushka (pictured, £191), it's ideal for the beach. Team with vintage gold jewellery for a boho look.

Alternatively, on cooler days try this higher necked version by Topshop (£50) which you could wear with tights and a cardigan or with gladiators and bare legs for warmer climates. See below for more examples of floral playsuits available now.

Floral skirts are no longer an item solely reserved for Grannys! Instead, they've had a new edgy makeover with funky shapes, super-short styles and clashing prints.

I like the bubble shape of this Topshop version (£35), but for more of an office look I'd opt for the French Connection fairytale skirt (£55).

Wear them now with thick tights and lace ankle boots, and then in the summer with a vest top and gladiator sandals.

In this week's episode of The Hills, Whitney and Lauren spent a few days in New York. During their time there they partied with a lot of male models (lucky them!). Obviously the ladies did it in style and I particularly loved Whitney's ensemble. She wore a floral jumpsuit that was loose creating a culottes effect with a vintage bag and heels. If it's too cold where you are to have bare legs or if you're not feeling as brave as Whitney then add in some thick black tights.
