Last night in Los Angeles, Keira Knightley looked like a fairy princess with flowers in her hair at the premiere of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Earlier this month, Ashlee Simpson also donned a floral headband at a preview of Missoni Havaianas 2012 in Beverly Hills, while British stylist Sophia Hesketh embraced flower power in her hair accessory at the Tatler Jubilee Party. Flower Power — Celebrate Chelsea Flower Show in Floral Headwear

Yesterday in London, the Queen was amongst the first visitors to the Chelsea Flower Show and went with the theme in a black tulle hat decorated with tiny flowers designed by her dresser, Angela Kelly.

Yesterday in London, the Queen was amongst the first visitors to the Chelsea Flower Show and went with the theme in a black tulle hat decorated with tiny flowers designed by her dresser, Angela Kelly. Unsurprisingly, florals were on display on the guests' outfits in homage to the annual flower show, with one model posing in a hat made of ivy and foliage and another donning white petals behind her ear. An easy way to get involved with Spring and Summer's floral trend without looking like you're at a child's birthday party is to wear it in your headgear, whether that's a fascinator for a formal do or a straw hat for a beach trip. Shop my selections below for every price point and tell me how you like to style flowers in your hair!

Trend Alert: Rose Print Tops

Summertime is always full of floral prints, but this year I have noticed that it has become even more specific as roses seem to dominate prints across the High Street.

Summertime is always full of floral prints, but this year I have noticed that it has become even more specific as roses seem to dominate prints across the High Street. This kind of print is perfect for adding a feminine touch to an ensemble.

Prints range from classic styles like this New Look vest top (£18) to more graphic versions like this Miss Selfridge t-shirt (pictured, £20). The colour palette varies too. Topshop's drape side top (£22) is a neon pastel shade, where as Debenham's crop top (£16) is much softer. I would team the style with tailored trousers, shorts or even skinny jeans and maybe layer under a blazer. What do you think of this type of print?

Trend Alert: Floral Bikinis

Floral dresses are a key Summer item, so why shouldn't this print extend to swimwear?
New Look at ShopStyle

Floral dresses are a key Summer item, so why shouldn't this print extend to swimwear? This Summer why not head to the beach or the pool in this style which is currently all over the High Street. The bright colours are great for relaxing in the sunshine and I have fallen for the charm of vintage prints like Topshop's bikini (£25).

New Look have created a twist on the style with this embroidered halter neck top (£8) which would be good for a sunny festival as well as the beach. See below for more flower design swimwear.

Trend Alert: Floral Playsuits

Ever since I spotted Whitney Port wearing a floral playsuit on The Hills, I have been lusting after this very fun item!

Ever since I spotted Whitney Port wearing a floral playsuit on The Hills, I have been lusting after this very fun item! Now that the days are longer and it is starting to feel warmer, I can start seriously considering a purchase.

Short playsuits are a great way to wear this must-have item. They are much more flattering than their longer-legged sister (the jumpsuit) which can end up looking frumpy. For hot summer days, the best way to keep cool is in a spaghetti strap version, like this one by Zimmermann Babushka (pictured, £191), it's ideal for the beach. Team with vintage gold jewellery for a boho look.

Alternatively, on cooler days try this higher necked version by Topshop (£50) which you could wear with tights and a cardigan or with gladiators and bare legs for warmer climates. See below for more examples of floral playsuits available now.

Trend Alert: Floral Skirt

Floral skirts are no longer an item solely reserved for Grannys!
Topshop at ShopStyle

Floral skirts are no longer an item solely reserved for Grannys! Instead, they've had a new edgy makeover with funky shapes, super-short styles and clashing prints.

I like the bubble shape of this Topshop version (£35), but for more of an office look I'd opt for the French Connection fairytale skirt (£55).

Wear them now with thick tights and lace ankle boots, and then in the summer with a vest top and gladiator sandals.

Will You Clash Your Florals?

I'm sure I don't need to tell you twice that there are plenty of floral prints around this season.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you twice that there are plenty of floral prints around this season. From Luella to House of Holland it seems we can't escape their feminine allure.

To make the look more contemporary for 2009 the trend has stepped up a notch as patterns are clashed, as seen in this Topshop campaign. The result is much edgier and although relatively easy to achieve, is difficult to pull off. Will you clash your florals?

I Want This Wardrobe: Whitney Port

In this week's episode of The Hills, Whitney and Lauren spent a few days in New York.

In this week's episode of The Hills, Whitney and Lauren spent a few days in New York. During their time there they partied with a lot of male models (lucky them!). Obviously the ladies did it in style and I particularly loved Whitney's ensemble. She wore a floral jumpsuit that was loose creating a culottes effect with a vintage bag and heels. If it's too cold where you are to have bare legs or if you're not feeling as brave as Whitney then add in some thick black tights.
