Feathers were an unusual addition to the catwalk for Autumn 2008. Adding texture to an ensemble they appeared on the catwalk at Burberry and Alexander McQueen to name a few. Despite sounding slightly gross, they actually work well and the trend has since been embraced by the High Street.

Couture week continued in Paris yesterday as Chanel and Givenchy presented Spring collections. Riccardo Tisci's line for Givenchy had gothic undertones with seventies inspired floor sweeping gowns. Alongside these dresses, was sharp tailored tuxedo jackets and embellished t-shirts with ostrich feathers.

Marks and Spencer have landed in hot water this festive season over their ad campaign below. The TV advert stars many British celebrities including Twiggy, Stephen Fry and Myleene Klass, but it's the appearance of Ashes to Ashes actor Philip Glenister which has ruffled feathers. The Advertising Standards Authority is reportedly looking in to complaints over the ad which has been branded as "sexist".

Last night, Agyness Deyn joined Lady Gaga and Diane von Furstenberg among others at the ACE Awards Gala in New York City. Agyness, still donning ultra-dark hair, showed off a more polished coif that usual, however what was most interesting about her look wasn't her hair, accessories or clothing — it was her makeup! Wearing feather black false eyelashes, on the bottoms of her eyes as opposed to the tops, from a distance it appears that her eyes are shut when they are actually wide open.
