After I get out of the bath or shower, I lotion up, add product to my hair and then I let it air dry a bit whilst I start on my makeup. But after talking with some friends, I've noticed that they're pretty evenly split between applying their makeup first and drying their hair first. It sure looks like Jessica Simpson is a fan of the latter.

A few weeks ago in LA, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was spotted leaving Senna Cosmetics after getting a makeover and buying some products. I've been a fan of Senna since a friend introduced me to them a few years ago, and I swear by their mineral mix powder, tinted moisturiser and sheer lipsticks. Even though the company has a website (and they ship to the UK — thank goodness), it's not likely that unless you're a die-hard makeup junkie that you'd be familiar with the brand.

Last night at the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles, the red carpet was filled with celebrities from television and film. In true Hollywood tradition, all of the women arrived dressed to the nines in ball-gowns and baubles from big name designers and everyone's hair and makeup was flawless.
Some of my favourite beauties were January Jones who looked slightly 70's with her loose waves and gold eye shadow, and Freida Pinto whose soft, smoky makeup enhanced her creamy caramel skin.

Last night at the 2009 Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles, actresses Eva Longoria, Penelope Cruz, Kate Beckinsale, Angela Bassett, Kristin Scott Thomas and Evan Rachel Wood all arrived on the red carpet with their hair pulled back in chic updo's.
Even Angelina Jolie decided to go for a swept-up sleek ponytail, something we don't typically see on her when she's making a formal appearance. Out of all of these hairstyles, I like the Penelope's classic look the best and Evan's drapey and too-thick tendril the least.

Last night the 2009 Critics Choice Awards took place in Los Angeles celebrating the stars of the silver screen. Many of Hollywood's biggest names got dressed up and hit the red carpet. One of the most emerging trends that I've noticed (beyond credit crunch supporting floor sweeping gowns) is the knee skimming dress.

I'm all for bronzer. I love the way it gives me a healthy glow and I even love the look of a good, brown self tanning gel or cream. That being said, I definitely prefer a natural looking tan to an orangey one any day, and in this photo of Eva Longoria Parker at the Par Coeur Gala for Association Make A Wish with Tony Parker, Eva's looking a little off to me.

Just like our bodies need oxygen to be healthy, our skin does too. Enter Michelle Peck, facialist to Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez and Molly Sims (just to drop a few names). She started off as a masseuse, however, her career really began to take off when she connected with skincare brand Intraceuticals and began putting her own healing touch on their oxygen treatment called Intraceuticals Infusion.

Try and look past Paris Hilton kissing a chimpanzee, and check out the heavy duty false lashes that she's sporting to a bowling alley in New York. Lots of celebrities like Eva Longoria and Cheryl Cole wear falsies all the time, but I typically reserve them for special, fancy occasions. Let me know in a comment below often you take the time to apply false eyelashes.
