Earlier in the week, American reality star sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian attended the launch party for their collaboration line with British High Street label Dorothy Perkins. The affordable range called, Kardashian Kollection, is comprised of over 100 items that include smart separates like pants and blazers, to slimming dresses and sparkling accessories. Olivia Rubin for Dorothy Perkins Launches Today - Shop The Collection

The wait is finally over, as Olivia Rubin's Summer collection for Dorothy Perkins launched today! The high street collection reflects Rubin's mainline, with print-based colourful pieces in a range of maxis, peplum tops, wrap dresses and one-shouldered numbers. The British designer, who worked at Alexander McQueen and John Galliano before launching her label in 2007, told Vogue she wants to give women a "feel-good-feeling". That extends to celebs too: "I can totally see Eliza Doolittle and Pixie Lott sporting it and adding their own unique look to it."

Rubin has already got her eye on the "brand new vibe" she will bring to Dorothy Perkins with her A/W 2012-13 collection, but for the time being, I've got my eye on the Pink Bird Wrap Dress (£45), Blush Shell Peplum Top (£25) and Stone Keyhole T-Shirt (£28) from this season's range. There are many funky heels around at the moment, but it's the blue suede styles that keep catching my eye. I can't even think about this trend without humming the Elvis song! These shoes, however are slightly higher than anything Mr. Presley might have worn.

I have completely fallen for these Nicholas Kirkwood buckle heels (£480). The bright blue suede and the oversize buckle make them a great extravagant purchase. I also really like these zip back cut out shoes from Dorothy Perkins (£35).

On a trip to the French capital over a year ago I got my hands on a 'I heart Paris' t-shirt. This year has been important one for Cheryl Cole from negative press rumours about her marriage, to her style makeover to her recent position as X Factor judge she has won people over (myself included).

Style for Style: How to Wear Tartan Skirt

So you've probably already taken my word for it that tartan is a trend and have seen it emerge on the High Street but when you get the items home, how do you actually wear it? Well I have taken on the task for you!

I picked a tulip shaped check skirt (£15) from Dorothy Perkins which I particularly liked because of the unusual shape. The pleating detail give the skirt a Vivienne Westwood edge and definitely makes it look more expensive.

I really like plaid skirts, particularly in a classic school girl way with a black jumper so I teamed it with a roll neck batwing jumper. I then thought the ensemble would be finished out nicely with a pair of heeled brogues but it's so cold today that I had to go for flat boots.

Plaid skirts are so detailed that it's best to keep everything else plain and simple. It's a great winter item as it adds colour to a look and tartan is often quite a heavy weave. What do you think?
