Trend Alert: Lovely Lilacs For Spring 2010
In my experience, Spring makeup trends fluctuate from year to year between pops of bold juicy, punchy colours and pretty pastels. However, what makes this year so special is the mix of lights and brights. The one colour that we see blooming all over the place is lilac.

Love It or Hate It? Mischa Barton's Parisian Beauty Look
Yesterday in Paris, a very done up Mischa Barton attended the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2009 Haute Couture Fashion Show. I was surprised to see her all glammed up in winged eyeliner, curls and a little bit of height at the crown of her head. Typically for fashion shows, her beauty look is more natural and laid back.
Dior Mascara Is Certainly Iconic
The results are in and out 290 votes, 30% of you gave a thumbs up to Diorshow Iconic for best mascara of 2008. 23% of you voted for Sexy Curves by Rimmel, and 14% of you chose Benefit's BADgal Plum as your absolute favourite (I love how coloured mascara put up such a good fight)!
While I agree that Dior makes a fabulous product that lengthens, volumizes, adds shine and va-va-voom to your lashes, it also creates the exact opposite effect than what I strive for.

Think of the Hollywood stars of the '40s like Rita Hayworth or Greta Garbo and you'd imagine that they would be having their makeup applied in front of flashbulb lined mirrors, perhaps wearing black silk elbow length gloves while smouldering prettily. They'd certainly be using a classic vanity case such as Dior's new Backstage Beauty Box (£250). Luckily for modern day starlets this set is now available to buy exclusively at Selfridges, as part of their Christmas collection.
