Barbara Hulanicki, the founder of the original Biba, is one of my favourite designers and is currently experiencing a bit of a revival. This holds no bearing on the Biba revival but rather through her own collaborations including one with Graham & Brown to design wallpaper and one with Italian accessory house Coccinelle.
The bags for Coccinelle feature the iconic art deco Biba design and are available from just £45.

There have been many attempts to revive '70s fashion houses in recent years including Ossie Clark, Biba and Halston to mixed success. Biba reappeared on the British fashion scene three years ago when it was under the creative direction of Bella Freud. It went in to administration in May last year, but it seems that was not quite the end.

Barbara Hulanicki created the first ever high fashion, mainstream store. Her Biba designs were (and still are) highly sought after as she offered cool clothes to the masses in the late '60s. Fitting then that she should be working with the most on-trend High Street store of today, Topshop, for her return to fashion design.
