Alexa Chung styled up her ladylike best for the VIP preview of the Royal Academy of London Exhibition. The style setter chose a mod sheath dress by Moschino for the affair, complete with tiny pockets, ruffles, and pearl-encrusted gold buttons. We love how she balanced out the ladylike vibe with a playful raffia clutch decorated with flamingos and palm trees. Watch today's Fab Flash to see more! On Allison McNamara: Topshop blouse.

Charlotte Olympia Shoes: Resort 2012 Collection

Since its inception in 2007, Charlotte Olympia has gained a cult following from shoe hounds such as Olivia Palermo, Caroline Sieber, Reese Witherspoon, and we're sure many more. For Resort 2012, designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal highlighted her signature two-inch front platform in a bevy of jewel-toned hues, glamorous gold finishes, and sleek satin — perfect for that girl looking to add a little extra height and major oomph to her look. We're privy to her sky-high confections, but those looking for more function can seek comfort in Dellal's chic leopard print flats or stacked wedges. Best of 2010: Which Designer is Best for Killer Heels?

Throughout 2010, there have been some amazing killer heels on the red carpet and on the party scene.

Throughout 2010, there have been some amazing killer heels on the red carpet and on the party scene. Celebrities rarely leave home without their favourite pair and the styles often catch my eye. I love heels too. They look amazing and sometimes can be considered works of art! This year, Nicholas Kirkwood and Charlotte Olympia have been two names which just keep popping up. They join classic footwear designers Christian Louboutin and Brian Atwood who have long been red carpet favourites. Alexander McQueen's gravity defying shoes have also made the headlines this year and I'm a sucker for Balenciaga's heels. Out of these six designers, which do you think deserves to be crowned best of 2010?

Fab Flash: BFC Picks Designer Prize Shortlist

The British Fashion Council has just announced it's shortlist for a 2011 fashion award.

The British Fashion Council has just announced it's shortlist for a 2011 fashion award. It is given in conjunction with Vogue and is the UK equivalent of the CFDA /Vogue Fashion Fund which was this year awarded to Billy Reid. The shortlist for 2011 is Jonathan Saunders, Nicholas Kirkwood, Osman, Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll, Charlotte Olympia (who's shoes are pictured), Christopher Kane and E. Tautz.

The winning designer will be awarded £200,000 to support their business. The judging panel is chaired by Alexandra Shulman who commented, “It is very exciting to be in our second year of the fund and to be providing such tangible help to this extremely impressive shortlist of British designers." Last year, Erdem took home the accolade. The winner for 2011 will be announced in the March issue of British Vogue.

British Fashion Awards Nominations Are Announced

The nominees for the 2010 British Fashion Awards have been announced today and it's quite an exciting list!

The nominees for the 2010 British Fashion Awards have been announced today and it's quite an exciting list! Big international names Christopher Bailey, Phoebe Philo and Christopher Kane are nominated for designer of the year. Also, it must be an exciting day in the Beckham household as Victoria is nominated for her first British Fashion Award. Perhaps the most interesting category for me is the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator as nominees include both Nick Knight and Nicola Formichetti – who are both friends of Lady Gaga! Hopefully she will therefore be present on 7th December when the winners are announced.

The London 25 award will be sticking around too, but under the new named of British Style Award. You will be able to vote for the winner of this via the official site soon. Last year, Kate Moss bagged that gong.

Chariman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman commented,

“This year’s nominees are a reflection of the incredible vision and breadth of talent British designers offer. From the truly unique and inspiring collections by the designers nominated in the Emerging Talent categories to the remarkable impact designer brands Burberry, Mulberry, Pringle of Scotland and Victoria Beckham continue to make on the industry, the creativity of our designers drives forward the British fashion industry and we’re very proud to be celebrating this.”

Trend Alert: Zip-Front Heeled Sandals

Recently, I have noticed a lot of zips on shoes.
Charlotte Olympia at ShopStyle

Recently, I have noticed a lot of zips on shoes. They are the fastening du jour for sky high, sexy heels and give the shoe an extra oomph!

Zips mainly feature on the front of sandals and ensure the heel is tight fitting. I am completely in love with Charlotte Olympia's Maxine sandals (£515) which are great for the party season. If your budget doesn't stretch quite that far then Miss KG have a great alternative (£80).
